Okay, so you might think this is a bit morbid at first glance, but after reading Empire's Top 50 Finishing Moves I am intriqued as to what you guys would say was the best movie death scene. For me it's got to be Cyrus the Virus' brilliantly over the top death in Con Air. He gets stabbed through the leg whilst standing on top of a moving truck. He is then thrown through two sheet of glass on either side of a bridge. He then falls through a set of electrical power cables onto a conveyer belt that drops him down a shaft where a great big concrete boulder comes crashing down on top of his head.
Ridiculous. Over the top. Brilliant!

Your description was more entertaining than that movie as a whole. I can't think of any other death scenes that spectacular, although I kinda got a kick out of Dennis Hopper's decapitation in Speed ("I'm smarter than you!" THUNK. "Yeah, but I'm taller.").

But he doesn't die until the car impact makes him pop! ;D So, actually, it's doubly good!

I quite enjoyed the deaths in Jason X! Overall it's a film as bad you'd imagine, but it has strangely inventive deaths in it.
I particularly enjoyed the one where a woman in a science lab is killed by Jason... who plunges her head into a sink full of liquid nitrogen. We get a camera view from in the liquid nitrogen, looking up at her screaming face... which eventually freezes solid. Then Jason removes her head from the sink and proceeds to smash her face against the worktop, causing her face to shatter! Lovely!
Oh look.. it's on YouTube: HORROR FILM GORE WARNING! You can skip to the 3 minute point of the video. You only need the last 42 seconds!

My inner 13 year old is saying, "cooool thread"
The movie death that I will never forget is Daryl Hannah as Pris in Blade Runner.
*SPOILERS* The way she thrashed about really disturbed me when I first saw it. Due to my misunderstanding as to what replicants were I thought it was meant to be damage to circuit boards etc... When I later found out she was completely biomorphic I interpreted it as her desperately clinging on to life and the fake memories she has. *SPOILERS END*
Bubblin' under... Robert Shaw as Quint in Jaws Toothy! Michael Sheard as Admiral Ozzel in The Empire Strikes Back Forceful! Douglas Rain as HAL 9000 in 2001: A Space Odyssey Calculated!
A film I don't remember the name of, some '50s western I think, anyway this bad guy is thrown of a cliff, or falls from a cliff edge after clinging on for dear life for an appropriately dramatic length of time, down on to a load of spears that are being held upright by a load of Red Indians. Cut to heroine burying head into hero's chest... I didn't see much as I was peeking from behind a cushion. I was seven.

I didn't really want to have to draw for the 'final destination' films as thats kind of cheating, due to the whole point of the film being that they die interesting deaths..
Erm.. the end of Reservior Dogs with the chain shooting? .. Or even better than that.. that foriegn film where many people stand in a chain around the room with a gun pointed to someones head.. and when the light bulb shines, you pull the trigger.. (whats that called again? and can someone post a youtube link to that?)

*spoiler alert* for Looking For Mr Goodbar. Scroll down if you already know the ending.
Diane Keaton in Looking For Mr Goodbar. Still haunts me to this day.

But he doesn't die until the car impact makes him pop! ;D So, actually, it's doubly good! YES!! Good call! Just him running around all mutated and shit. Hilarious. Also Dave that Jason X death is hilarious. How about the dude who has his arms and legs twisted round in Saw 2? Can't think of any more.... Most shocking I've ever seen is in a Hanneke Film. I don't wanna spoil it though. Those who've seen it will know what i mean.
