Ok after years of owning different drag drop mp3 players I've finally succumbed to getting an ipod and its great. It's the 8gb one so once you've popped a few vids on etc theres not a huge amount for mp3's (or is there?). I stumbled on an app called 'Simplfy Media' for it (costs £2.39) that allows you to stream all your music from your computers hard drive. Hey Presto an extra 20 gig of music (in my case) as long as you are near a wifi point. Didn't expect it to work well but it works great and apparently works with a 3g or an edge connection too. Hope this is useful to someone its a must app if your struggling for space! Oooh and will play all your wma files too!

Welcome to the future.
So you can play your hard drive music through your iPod? Smart. I havent found the space a problem, 8gb too, I reguarly update and mess about so films are on and off all the time.
I use my touch with my mac, and airport express. So can wirelessly play my music collection anywhere in the house! Its amazing.

Yeah, I got an iPhone a couple of weeks ago when the £35 monthly tariff included a free one rather than £100. I've also got an 80Gb iPod classic so not fussed about 'only' having 8Gb as I just have a single playlist which spits out 4Gb of random music out and use up the rest of the space with various comedy vids or films.
As all gadgets, there are pros and cons with the iPhone... I'll summarise in my own opinion...
Pros
The Apps man! Yeah, these are ace, especially Shazam (how to find out that song name that's bugging you), Traffic Info, London Tube info (use this for when I'm down on business) and Facebook/Twitterfon are my favourites. There's chuffing loads of them to try out, and loadsa freebies too.
The calendar. I found this really easy to sync up with outlook, and I import fixtures, gigs via a CSV file for swift mass updating. Use this heavily
The QWERTY keyboard. Now, I thought this would be a con because I have stubby fingers and it's a pretty small keyboard. BUT I've coped with it surprisingly well, and I'm much faster at texting than I was on my old olde worlde handset previously.
iPod. I've ripped absolutely tons of my DVDs so I've about 140Gb of videos to put on. The clarity is superb (I intentially rip them as high quality MP4s so large file size but little loss in quality) and also I don't use this function that heavily at the moment, it's going to come really handy travelling on holiday this summer.
The tinternet. Yep, quite fast and only a little slower than my home interwebs. Really like the zoom in and out function by pinching at the touchscreen too. I think I've used this the most since I got it.
Cons
Battery - Aye, I wasn't naive as Apple have always had a chequered battery history although they're getting better at it these days. By hammering the apps, internet and iPod it whittles through your battery life a fair bit. But for me it's not a huge problem as I charge every night and have it plugged into my laptop at work too. I;d imagine others will find this annoying as hell though.
Condition - It's a gleaming, shiny, beautiful piece of kit when you first get it out of the box. After playing with it for even a few seconds with clean hands the touch screen and back gets absolutely chockful of smears and fingerprints. Not really much way around this other than cleaning regularly but just a tad irksome as when it's clean it looks fucking gorgeous.
I've rambled a bit here, but all in all well happy with it. I've been wanting an all-in-one kinda thing and this is it for me.
