And the following are the real stinkers that should not have been made: Crank 2 (sorry Dave) Gamer (sorry Dave) Ha ha. It's nice to know you care about my feelings! Don't worry, the fact that loads of people hate Crank 2 is one of the things that makes it so special! ;D Gamer WAS a touch on the stinky side though.

TOP TEN District 9 Le donk Benjamin button Wrestler Crank 2 Star trek Harry potter Role models Seven pounds (Can't think of 10th !)
A FEW I’VE SEEN THIS YEAR, BUT NOT RELEASED THIS YEAR Diving Bell & The Butterfly In America
MISC Who said Taken? It wasn’t released this year! Anyway, hated it. So corny I can’t see the appeal. My mate said it was class and after I wasted a rental from Love Film on it I tw*tted him, twice. Slumdog Millionaire overrated. Hangover not funny.

OK, I'll have a go, although my goldfish memory will no doubt let me down. I'm a bit unsure about some some selections-e.g was The Wrestler this year?
Struggling a bit to make ten, so I'll leave a gap for those I've yet to see that sound promising.
Let the Right One In Star Trek Frost/Nixon The Wrestler The Damned United (doubt this would make my list if I wasn't a Forest/Cloughie devotee, but I am and I loved it) Moon (not as good as I was expecting, but deserves to make the list)
That's it from me!
Here's a few that might fill the spaces when I finally get around to seeing them:
Le Donk (massive shame on me. Been a really odd year, been on the verge of seeing it three times and each time somethings cropped up that's stopped me-feels like a conspiracy. Anyhoo, have a feeling Santa might come to the rescue, so there's time to make the list yet!) A Serious Man (hearing really good things about this-best Coen Brothers film in a very long while etc). The White Ribbon, In the Loop, Up.
Disappointing:
Public Enemies The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus Fantastic Mr Fox
Should say I enjoyed all three, but only because I was in the mood for something easy going that I didn't have to think about much. Fanstastic Mr. Fox is OK-worth seeing-but it disappoints a bit because like Anderson's Darjeeling, there's too much attention to stylistic details over the actual content.
Most over-rated
Slumdog Millionnaire (load of old tosh)
Worst film of the year
AntiChrist
P*ss off Von Trier.

The Wrestler was defo this year Jill. I don't think Benjamin Button was though, Rodwack.
Really wanna see that (500) Days Of The Summer. I have longed for a decent romantic comedy. To be honest I haven't 'LONGED' just wanna see one that isn't like all the rest.

Only just watched Coraline (xmas bluray!).
I now realise that should have been in my top 10 of 2009!
A proper horror film for kids! Amazing.
I didn't watch The Fantastic Mr Fox, but saw bits of it. Henry Selick's team on Coraline make the Mr Fox crew look like rank amateurs! The stop-motion stuff in Coraline is probably the best I've ever seen.
There's an amazing little bit after the end credits where we see the ghostly mice flying about in formation. At first I couldn't quite work out what I was looking at, or why it was being shown after the credits.... but then it struck me what was going on and it made me literally gasp with amazement. My mind was blown! What you're watching is how the ghostly, flowing mice doing their mid-air dance was animated! You can see all the spindly supports and contraptions they used to make it work. Phenomenal. I couldn't believe it. When you see the bit in the film, you may think like me that it must be a bit of CGI trickery used to pull it off.... but it turns out that it definitely is not!
Not seen the extras on the bluray yet... can't wait!
Only bits that vaguely annoyed (though not really) were a couple of shots that were very clearly only done to show off the 3D version of the film. The bluray has a 'best-we-can-manage' red/blue 3D version of the film n the disc too. I watched it in 2D first... will be interesting seeing it in the anaglyph 3D next.

I tried watching in "3D" but It looked awful, I think you need to watch in the dark. Great film.

I tried watching in "3D" but It looked awful, I think you need to watch in the dark. Great film. "For those in the know: Jerkwad" I just looked it up, and it was all part of a competition run during the theatrical release. The Coraline website has a secret competition page which said; "Don't be in such a hurry! There's something to be found in the end credits". You had to find the code and enter it into the site.. the code was jerkwad. The prize was limited edition Coraline edition Nike trainers only winners of the competition would own: Nice. The behind-the-scenes animation bit at the end is astounding. I nearly didn't realise what I was watching either. I think it got about half way through before I twigged what was going on. The blue screen background being the biggest clue when you realise what it is. I think it was because I only twigged halfway through that I was so stunned! haha. I need to see it again! Can't find it on the internet anywhere. The 3D will probably be a pain in the arse. I mean, if your TV's colour settings are not suitable, then it will never work. Remember old grannies TV where everyone's faces are bright orange and glowing? haha Well it won't be working on that TV! But even subtle preferences that people have made in their colour settings will make the 3D unusable.

Cheers for clearing that up Dave! Interesting. Those trainers are nice! Even though I'm not generally a fan of Nike trainers. I'm gonna check out that end bit again soon hopefully.
