Every year I buy 5 or 6 dvd's of the best films of 2010. What would you recommend? Don't worry if they are not out yet, can always catch up with them later.
On my list so far.
Winter's bone The Secret in Their Eyes The Town

The Social Network is still in theaters, but I highly recommend checking it out sometime even if it means waiting for the DVD.

My faves so far (no real order... apart from Kick Ass, it deserves to be on top there!):
Kick Ass Monsters Inception Toy Story 3 Social Network Skeletons Cyrus Iron Man 2 Shutter Island A Town Called Panic Up In the Air Alice In Wonderland (I liked it!) Winter's Bone Four Lions Due Date Lebanon The Girl Who Played With Fire [Rec]2 The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest Ponyo Plug & Pray (Technically doesn't count.. as it hasn't had a release in the UK, but I thought it was well worth a mention!) Somewhere Catfish Of Gods & Men Rare Exports
There's probably more.. will add them when I remember!

Mate if u like gangster movies may i recommend Gangster's Paradise: Jerusalema. Sounds fucking ridiculous i know but its pretty damn good, based on a true story. It came out to buy few months ago, i got it and was pleased i did. Check it out on imdb gets a good rating. Failing that u wont go far wrong with whats on Ryds list.
ps its nothing u havent seen before but its a rags to riches tale told in a more exotic locale.

kick ass, for me was genius. the new series of kick ass comics is running, im holding of till they come out on trade paperback. hopefully they will be good enough to warrant another movie.
soul boy, i loved this, was good to see a movie about the northern soul scene. im sure anyone who liked tie 86 will enjoy this.
iron man 2, i love comics so this is a must for me. really cant wait for thor and captain america to be made so we can get the avengers.

Soul Boy got panned by the critics. I hate when they make films about interesting subjects and do a bad job with them (i.e Awaydays)
Enter the Void might creep onto my list. Good film to stick on when your wrecked lol

Haven't seen too many 'new release' films this year. Ones I enjoyed (probably forgot some)
The Road Up in the Air The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Four Lions Skeletons The Illusionist Another Year Soul Boy Inception
Soul Boy was a bit disappointing, but still enjoyed it. Quite a few I've missed and want to see, including The Disappearance of Alice Creed and Mary And Max.*
(*Did manage to see Harvey Krumpet recently though-liked it a lot-perfect balance between sad/touching and funny).
Edit: Oops forgot Toy Story 3 ;D Also, quite liked Enter the Void
