It's six years since he finished This Is England, and since then he's done two tv series and two 'short' films. Isn't it about time he did a proper film again, British cinema is crying out for it.

There are a couple of things in the planning sanelynch. If you search around the forum you'll find details of at least two projects in the planning stages and-who knows-maybe King of the Gypsies will get made eventually. The latter film was delayed because of issues over rights which seem to have been beyond Shane's control. Other projects depend on funding, which is not easy to come by even when you're a star, but it seems talks have taken place in earnest with Warp, so we're all hopeful...... I liked both Somers Town and Le Donk, so not complaining. And the second series of TiE was pretty good TV drama and pretty filmic too-so again- not too shabby at all. I get the sense-don't know for sure-that it's pretty hard to make money out of films, even when you're established and they do well (as with TIE) and I suppose Shane and the cast and crew have bills to pay like everybody else. So unless Shane wins the lottery, the pace of these things will be dictated by a lot of contingent factors. But yes, it will be great to see the next one on the big screen and we all hope it's not too far off PS. Six years isn't that long in the film making world is it? It took Lynne Ramsey an absolute age before she was able to get the right script, the rights and the funding to make another film. So, a major film, two shorter ones and two TV series in the interrim's not bad going ;D

I saw the title of this thread and by gut reaction was, 'YES!'
But Jill's laid out the reality very well there. When Shane is in a position to make another film for cinema release I will be in the front of the queue ready to shove it into my mind through my eyes and ears! ;D

An interview with Stephen Graham that I read earlier said that TIE 90 won't start filming until 2013 as Shane and the cast are busy and need a break from it. So if Shane is doing a Stone Roses doc this year it might leave a bit of space to get a film in between the two projects....hopefully ;D
