Whats the difference between God and the Bono? God doesn't walk around thinking he's Bono. ha ha ha ha!! what a gag! i love it. my dad likes U2.. what a fool. anyway gotta be Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen all had amazing music. others people probably havn't heard of, but i think are great in my opinion are The Mars Volta who are absolutely an amazing band to see live, just amazingly good mucisians, its insane, the whole crowd just gawped in amazement. heres some bands people seem to love, and seem to get loads of respect, but really they're pants: The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, The Darkness, the keiser cheifs.. all rubbish, in my opinion anyway. and people might not like me for saying this, but coldplay are balls too everyone seems to think they're the greates thing sinse sliced bread, anyway at least john peel agrees with me, apprently he hated coldplay too. anyway.. thats the end of my rant.

Are The Mars Volta the band that contain a couple of chaps that used to be in At The Drive In? Keep meaning to listen to more Mars Volta (if I have got the connection right! I used to enjoy At The Drive In). I have heard they are some great musicians.... one of the reasons I love stuff like The Dillinger Escape Plan and Candiria.

Nirvana? Think not! Agree with the rest though. Poor Blur. They're good but just not best band ever good. Don't have a favourite. But feeling the love for Johnny Cash and Nick Drake big time! The Kinks, The Beatles and Oasis all get a nod. Beach boys always get a jessikins thumbs up too! And yes finally someone agrees with me about coldplay!! Got a lovely T-shirt for christmas that says "make coldplay go away". Its awesome! Just can not stand Chris Martin. He's almost as bad as that Bono bloke.

I used to enjoy At The Drive In). I have heard they are some great musicians.... one of the reasons I love stuff like The Dillinger Escape Plan and Candiria. They certainly are! Cedric Bixler (singer) and Omar A Rodriguez (guitarist) formed The Mars Volta after At The Drive in split. The other members of at the drive in formed Sparta who are a very good band, who have made 2 albums, one member of sparta.. rob i think his name is left sparta recently to join the mars volta ha ha.. all very confusing but funny. anyway I highly recomend the mars volta, they are very hard to get used to as their songs can be unbeleiveably long "Cassandra Gemini" is 30 mins long. what amazed me about their live show is they actualy played this song.. was insane. Any way if you want something different the mars volta are awesome, but some people just can't get into it, cos you have to adapt the way to listen to music to enjoy it, it will confuse at first, and then amaze. Get Deloused In the Commatorium first to ease you into it. Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of) is one of the best songs EVER created.. fact. Dillinger Escape Plan ay? i've heard like 1 song, it sounded really shouty and stuff which is good cos i like that kinda thing, i probably would like them.

okay did someone just say Dillinger Escape plan, Candiria and Mars Volta in the same post!?! My thoughts exactly. If we're talkin great musicians, add to that Sikth, Meshuggah and Reflux to the list. For lesser known bands on the heavy side with great dexterity try Executive DIstraction Tasks and Tangaroa, two bands from Leeds.
On a more latin/dub note, for those fans of Mars Volta / ATD-I, check out DeFacto, a project that predates both, which involved Cedric (on drums), Omar (on bass) Ikey Owens (keys) and Jeremy Ward (sounds/melodica). They have a CD called Megaton Shotblast which i would highly recommend.
Oh yeah, and that classic "Three bales o' hay" by a young pretender known only as Tank Bulloch.
