Hey, Just watched The Machinist. I really liked it! Christian Bale as ever is awesome in this! He lost so much weight its incredible. Theres an actor in this film called John Sharian who has a striking resemblance to someone we all know.... www.cinema.com/image_lib/3582_1_116_thumb.jpgWhat do you think? Si

Saw it recently, good flick. Bale is amazing (as always) and pretty much carries the film. Apparently he wanted to lose another 20 pounds but the producers wouldn't let him! All in all I thought it was a very realistic depiction of insomnia and anxiety; anyone who's stayed up for about two/three days on the run will know that it's enough to rival a couple of tabs.
BUT... it pissed me off that every review of it on posters, on the front of the DVD etc seemed to compare it to Fight Club or Memento. Similar films, but it means you watch The Machinist waiting for the twist / moment of realisation to come.
Definitely worth a watch though. Question is, has Christian Bale's Welsh/English accent gone forever now...?

His accent. Nah he just doesn't do it in American interviews because he knows they will struggle with the fact a welsh man is playing Batman..... ah well.
What did you think of the look-a-like?

Hehe, a really OTT Welsh Batman would be fantastic. Maybe get Pancho off Dirty Sanchez to play him, and incorporate some ultraviolent slapstick. Batman slams his jaffas in a mousetrap etc. Has anyone else heard the rumour that Rik Mayall is on the shortlist to play The Joker in the next Batman flick? That'd be fucking incredible, especially if they could get Ade Edmondson to play The Riddler or something alongside him. They could both get into a big ruck with frying pans, and Bale could get his head slammed in the fridge door. "Batman: Bottom" And yeah that lookalike is spot-on. If Shane ever gets cast in a Hollywood action film, that bloke could be his stuntman! Unless Shane goes all Tom Cruise and does his own stunts.

Ok guys anyone seen another of this guys films called session 9? I heard lots of hype about it actually been a scary horror film and i mean really creepy not just bollocks like the rest. I watched it last night (along with the jacket which was ok but needs about an hour to go into) and i didn't see what all the fuss was about. The Mullen guy (patrick or peter i forget) is in it and is great as usual and that ginger twat caruso was ok but there is no film there and the end is a total cop out as usual with shit horror films so whats all the fuss about.
I love horror film but i cant think of the last good one without going asian (ring, audition) german/dutch ( fear X, sort of a horror) other than that its the shining.
Any comments you movie geeks.
