Has anyone else seen this yet? It's fantastic, I've been twice. I wasn't much a fan of Anchorman and I thought Wedding Crashers was just ok... But I've been a fan of the director Judd Apatow for a while, based on his excellent TV shows (namely Freaks & Geeks and Undeclared). Seth Rogen was in both of those, and I was looking forward to seeing him in a bigger role. I never thought much of Steve Carell until this film, but he was incredible.
It hits all the bases - hilarious, sweet, romantic. It's a lot more mature than you'd think, but it still has a lot of the "male comedy" genre staples for the more shallow viewer. The film honestly goes straight into my top 5 alongside Chasing Amy, DMS, Highlander and... Hmmm, top 4 then.
It's just made me think... If I was a girl, I'd feel short-changed on comedy. I mean, the made-for-guys stuff is on a roll at the moment. And the girlie "comedies" inevitably starring the likes of Zellweger, Hudson, Witherspoon and her off Will & Grace, don't have a single laugh in them. It hardly seems fair. Some women do have a sense of humour, right? If they don't, then I feel silly for even writing this paragraph.

So I was silly for thinking it? But that can't be right... That woman from Spaced, she must have a sense of humour!

I don't see what went wrong there. But something did. Ah, rational discourse.
