Sin City, Sideways,Team America and Serenity were all cracking movies and also Switchblade Romance (Haute Tension) a great french horror film which I'm not sure came out last year but I saw it last year so thats good enough for me. Didn't think it was a particularly good year for movies on the whole though.

Garden State was well 2004 .... wasn't it? Only by a hair's breath - it was released theatrically in the UK in December 2004.

So what is dig then?
Best films errr let me try,
sin city, sideways, garden state, last days, (ive only seen it once and it could qualify for the biggest pile of shit also im not sure yet i need to watch it again.) Brown Bunny. (growing on me) The life aquatic. 2005?
without a doubt, hidden is the best film of 2005 even though it is only out next week in the uk but i saw a preview before christmas so it going in. Everyone check out his films starting with funny games.

JT, Dig! Is a documentary that follows the trials and tribulations of two bands – Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols. I’ve not seen it but it’s supposed to be superb…
I’ve not seen ‘Hidden’, nor have I seen ‘Funny Games’ but I have seen The Piano Teacher – which is a seriously twisted little flick – The director is that German fella, Michael Haneke, right?
I quite liked Last Days but am undecided whether I'll watch it again. For a pretty short film, it aint arf a slog to get through. Still, Michael Pitt who plays the 'Cobain' character was seriously good in the film.

Just fucking watch it very closley roclports it will fuck you up for hour trying to work out what you saw.
I have seen dig in the videoshop, looks ok but i aint a fan of those bands really, does that matter?
Im gonna catch werner hertzogs docu grizzly man or something bout some bear dude who lost it and got himself and his bird torn apart and eaten!!!
Piano teacher is very good but people need to see funny games to get a good idea of what heneke is like.
He is austrian but his last few films are french speaking. I think they are trying to skank him an oscar beacause the foreign films have to be made in the directors home language or some shit.
He is THE most interesting director about at the moment.

JT – you needn’t be a fan of either band to enjoy Dig! Apparently – it’s a modern parable by all accounts.
I watched Grizzly Man over the weekend on the R1 DVD – it’s brilliant. Herzog rarely fails to amaze with his work and Grizzly Man is no exception. Make sure you do watch it.
I’ve been meaning to watch Funny Games for a long time now but just haven’t gotten around to doing so. His ‘Code Unknown’ is supposed to be excellent, too…
