IS IT TRUE THAT JEREMY DYSON (THE LEAUGE OF GENTLEMEN) WAS INSPIRED BY "THE WICKER MAN" FOR SOME OF HIS SCENES? FINK ITS PROB EDWARD AND TUBS
PS WHY DOES EDWARD WOODWARD HAVE SO MANY D'S IN HIS NAME
COS HE WOULD BE CALLED EWAR WOOWAR IF HE DID'NT

Of course he was! do you remember the line "did i do it right edward?" edward replies "YOU DID IT BEAUTIFULY!" a line directly stolen from the Wickerman. and there must be many more referances i'm sure. But i'm sure the whole scenario is heavily inspired by the wickerman, the whole No people who are not local in the shop, is just like, edward woodward is not welcome because he's not from the island. anyway i'll shut up now lol!

The 'gents' have always been well-known horror fans, and definitely reference tonnes of stuff, including the Wicker Man.

Apparently, they specifically put in the film references to be recognised by sad sacks like us, and them! i.e Papa Lazerou's look is from the film of "something wicked this way comes"etc etc
