Sunshine Underground Gary Numan Polysics Zillion The Dillinger Escape Plan Assorted Happy Hardcore (Yep... I do love a bit of DJ Vibes) Anothe fan of The Dillinger Escape Plan. Good show. I've not heard of Polysics or Zillion... are they in a similar vein? I really want to find more experimental/extreme bands to listen to. Recently I've been listening to The Smiths Melt Banana Fantomas The Melvins (new album A Senile Animal is a corker.... plus they've become a kind of giant band with two drummers and many new instrumentalists involved). Mogwai (The Mr Beast album has slowly worked it's magic on me. I've always been a Mogwai fan, but on first hearing of Mr Beast I just thought "same old, same old". Now I can't understand why I ever thought that. It's amazing. Pity a couple of tracks are a slightly tainted by being featured in that shabby Miami Vice film! haha).

i just got a load of mogwai albums, havn't listened yet, where do you recomend i start? Hmmm... I really like Rock Action, but maybe start with Happy Songs For Happy People. Mr Beast is a pretty great introduction too.... any of those three! haha Before those three albums, their tracks tended to average much longer durations. There's one track of theirs that for some inexplicable reason can make me cry if I let it. It's quite odd, because I can't explain why. There are no lyrics in it at all (quite usual for Mogwai), so it doesn't stem from that. I'm not going to say what track it is either, because people will have a listen and wonder what the hell's the matter with me!

Hey Dave whats this track called then. It's my own little secret! Ryd ..... Listen to Friend of the Night on the Mr Beast album. One of my favourites of all Mogwai. Mogwai's music is listened to differently by different people. Some people enjoy as background music (although some of the beefier moments I can't see working like that). Lots of people seem to like listening to it when off their face on joint fumes. But like any music, when you give it your full attention, you get the most reward I say.

Just had a YouTube investigation into Polysics.... sounds really nice. Very jolly stuff... one video just has some 10 year old girl jigging about. haha.
Can't pinpoint Zillion... seems to be quite a few bands around called that.... point me in the direction of the band you mean please!
I think Polysics needs to re-kindle the "Youtube music videos thread!"

Its seriously a blub fest, grown men and women all in tears. Its a really emotional event. Highly recommended

Highly recommended Yes.. saw them once and despite the fact I like some metal and extreme stuff, the Mogwai gig was the loudest I have been to (Spinal Tap would be proud). There was a warning outside before you went in about extreme volume. No tears at the live show for me, but it was really great... mesmerising and hypnotic... or was that just the fog of weed filling the place?!

Dave, Bands similiar in vein to Dillinger, off the top of my head : Meshuggah, Ion Dissonance, Reflux, Mr Bungle. Zillion is comprised of a number of memebers of different bands that have split up, one of which was called '5 point 0' which I absolutley loved. I suppose it falls under the Nu-metal genre. check it out at profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=37105950Polysics is mental! Its sounds asif an anime has been translated into music to me.

Funnily I watched a Mogwai video yesterday, it revolves around a potatoe.
Ive been liking Arab Strap. Also listening alot to The Knife, completely mental brother and sister duo, I think Swedish.
Scissorfight. harcore sludging mayhem.
Off to see a Brazlian band CSS tonight, electro, punky, hot girl action.
