This here's a short film I acted in in January. "Directed" by a mate of mine from uni. In my opinion and that of everyone else that's watched it, it's quite bad. But he's very proud of it, so I'd like to hear what the Shane fans think. I'll have a short of my own up in the next couple of weeks for you guys to praise or tear apart (probably the second, given my editing skills). Anyway, in this one I play the rabbit.
Jesus, are you insane Patrick? Nice fucking laugh you've got there mate. Not too bad an effort, looked shit on my comp though all blurred. Is your mate on drugs?
I got Madonna's big dick comin' outta my left ear......
Yeah, the whole thing was shot in the dark with auto-focus and night vision/blur vision thing. When he told me the general story several months back, I thought it sounded great (if a little too close to "The Odyssey", that old kids programme that I'd like to see again)... But long before we got to execution, I knew it would be bad. The "Fairy Godmother" guy, whose original story it was, was so disgusted with it that he turned his whole character into a panto dame (in a monster mask).
I wouldn't say Mr Bullock was insane so much as grossly misguided. And I do have some odd laughing ability. I consider it one of my acting trademarks, together with homoeroticism.
We recently discussed Silence. Jon Bullock was saying something about "I didn't want it to look organised anyway" and the other fella said "Don't worry. It didn't."
Most amusing thing about it is that on the night when we were taping it, he said that he thought the finished film would amount to 45-60 minutes. Everyone cracked up at that. It would have meant an extra 40-50 minutes of him walking around, I guess. And he's got no idea of copyright issues. I suggested I say "Beep beep, Richie!" for piss-taking's sake, and he said "God no, I don't wanna get sued." And then he goes and puts those music tracks in.
All in all, the fella's a fool. But he's an alright kinda bloke, and it gives me a laugh watching it. Not to mention, I make an odd sort of villain.
