Interesting stuff - not to demean the rest of it but I really liked the accompanying music to the end credits.

Thanks for commenting! The film isn't to everyone's tastes, and isn't all that well done!
You may have read it in an earlier post, but the music on the end credits is made by me on my PS2! Haha.. but no cheating using pre-made loops etc... all done from scratch by me!

Seeing as there has been a flurry of activity in this short film section of the board, I thought it an ideal time to big-up my old short film again! Handy for those who may have missed it the first time (probably deliberately.. hehe)! I have just put it up on YouTube, but it has ended up in quite poor quality for some reason (well... it is my first Youtube upload). It is still watchable though (ish). Here's the new link:

Not bad at all Dave, I enjoyed this film it had a kind of relaxing feel to it and the music used was perfect. Without going back over all the old posts when was it made as it had a kind of 90s feel to it?

Hey Dave i liked yr short. Mini budget comes good.... loved the music and liked it when the big guy held his pen up as though he had dropped it. The voice of the buscuit request man was hilarious. Made me laugh.
Watched RyD22's short today as well, it was really good.
Want to see more.....

RyD22's is a corker isn't it!
This short film of mine was made back in 2000 with all the budget being spent on a minidv tape, and some biscuits. Despite it being shot on minidv, when we came to edit it, we had no idea what we were doing, and only managed to capture the footage to a PC via composite leads instead of usb or firewire. What a schoolboy error! ;D

Thanks for all the comments Jo, I'm sure everyone appreciates them! I know I do! Oh yeah.. I am the biscuit voice man (and I am also the security guard).
If you are bored enough to watch another of my efforts, then you can find a thread entitled Tourist Information Film on page two of this Short Film Making board. I have updated it with a YouTube link! Hooray for YouTube!

hooray for you tube indeed dave! i tried watching this short before, but it stopped loading half way through, so i thought it unfair to comment on it having not seen it all. now i have thanks to you tube excellent effort dave, i really really enjoyed it, i thought it properly showed the awkwardness of waiting rooms, which i always found rather strange and amusing in my head, great to see it in a film. I love how each of the people had their own characteristics. i loved some of the shots, particually the POV shot when he looked down into the magazine, and then up to see the other guy had dissapeared! genius! the bit that made me laugh the most was the little name tag he made himself! ha ha ha ha "PAT" lol, just awesome. and i loved the ending, tottaly unexpected, but i did have the feeling that there was this kind of testing thing going on.. as if they were all being tested. but they thought they were waiting for an interview right? i loved how they all became each others enemies without even talking! just because of a tasty little jammy dodger! very very good dave, i was impressed you camptured the film by composite leads!? insane, i wasnt even aware you could do that! shoes your dedication though! blimey.. year 2000.. i didnt even own a camera! how much did the DV tape cost? thanks dave for saying my film was a corker ha ha.. i wish my other films lived up to it, i'll post them up soon. hope you enjoyed my feedback.

I loved the little girl bit when it went mental and the trains - thrill seekers he he. Courting in the disabled spot.... Its brill.....ha ha ha. Doodle music again....yr on to a winner there Mr Clarke!

Hey Dave that Tourist information film was bloody brilliant fella. Having been to Weston Super Mare several times myself I thought it was classic, I love the music u use and the tone of your voice in the film it was cracking little spoof especially the train which I have been on myself :-)
Lol I was in stitches when the bullet train and commentary came on. The film reminded me of early Peter Kay stuff.
Top film!

Thanks for the comments!
The whole tourist info film was just knocked together from some ropey old footage I had shot without any intention of making it a short film. If I had done it intentionally, there would have been the use of a tripod at the very least! haha
Anyway, I realised I had the footage, and then came up with the spoof tourist info film, so wrote myself a voice-over script. I do enjoy writing such nonsense... pity I am a lazy git usually. Whenever I write, I usually veer towards humour (well, I try at least). I really enjoy trying to finding humour in absolutley anything, which I feel is entirely possible, you just need to come at something from a strange perspective, or extrapolate with needless tangents (such as in the tousrist info film, where I go on about Bill enjoying the local council's harsh penalties for pavement fouling. Entirely unecessary, and all the funnier for it).
Hmmm I see that neither of you replied in the actual Tourist Info Film thread did you! Go on! That way it will be bumped back to the top of board! Ha ha... I'm not brazen enough to do it myself!

Hey RyD22... thanks for the lengthy comments... always appreciated! It's cool that you picked up on number of things that some people might not have (although it's probably more likely that they can't be bothered to bang on about it! ). The name tag idea was always something that amused me, glad you mentioned it. It kind of has vague links to psychology, in that people will often try to make themselves 'fit in', so this is represented by him hastily tearing out a picture of a ship and writing 'PAT' on it. Always a fun name that. Glad you got the feeling that perhaps the whole scenario was a test going on and that they were not just waiting for an interview (as they presumed). Good interpretation. Could be true! Ha ha... it may not seem like it, but the film was actually made to be left to the viewers own interpretation. The biggest clue that something is going on (other than waiting for interviews), is the name badges. All but the last bloke to enter has a name badge... and not only that, but the lab technician who delivers the biscuits and the security guard at the end have identical style badges. This was to imply that they were all in on proceedings, other than the main bloke (the last to enter), and therefore, the whole scenario could itself be a test or kind of interview for this bloke. The bit where everyone swipes all the magazines, and the bloke is left with Ships Monthly can also be interpreted as part of a test/interview (if indeed that is what is going on!). Don't I just love to bang on! Ha ha.... well let's keep going then. Everyone will have given up reading by now anyway. The person who delivers the biscuits is dressed in a lab coat, and this was also to add to the whole idea that a test or experiment was being conducted. The announcement for "More biscuits for room 12 please" is basically a call for the next interviewee. Or is it? The bit where he looks in the magazine and then looks up and the bloke has vanished was done without any edit! Just mentioning it, because Someone once commented that it was a good edit at that point!
