Just browsing through the message board again, and noticed that I forgot to leave any comments on the three shorts you put up quite a while ago now! I definitely watched them when you first put them up, and then obviously thought I'd leave some comments the next day or something similar.
Anyway... I did quite enjoy the simple premise of this one. I would say that some quicker cutting would have helped it a bit (like I'm some kind of expert! haha). For instance, when they are opening the case, the camera lingers too long on the different shots. There is also the old problem of cutting into a shot too soon. This is when the hands unlatch and open the case, you get the slight hint of the hands being 'cued' into action. Cutting to the shots later, where the hands are part way through the motion may have made it seem more fluid. Just a thought though. Same with the shot of the lid being opened.
I also liked the bizarre sparsity of the location, which gave it the feel of some kind of unique space created just for this face off (kind of like a virtual reality space, or a computer game, etc).

God bless Google video! ;D
Got me thinking that when a short film competition gets the go ahead, then it's completely feasible for all the entries to be exhibited on the site, via the hosting power of Google Video! That would be great!

whoa! great idea! you could quite easily set up a site/forum where you could embed the videos and people could comment or even vote for their fave.. oo the possibilties. another thing about the shorts comp, i think it should be a rule that people should own the rights or clearence to the music in their films, this would make things alot easier do you agree?

Yeah.. I agree about the music. Music is always a difficult area, because most people don't have access to any that they can rightfully use. Tough call really that one, because in theory, if no financial gain is being made, then it kind of slips through the net it seems.
Hmmm anyway.. more thinking needs to be done I feel.

I just submitted my film to Google Video. How long does the verification normally take??

it depends really, it took a day for one of my films. i suggest you upload them in MPEG-4 format, they upload like a million times quicker, and i think they get verified quicker too, send a link to the film once its up

RyD22, You should get yourself a mini site for one of your films. Its cheap enough, if you can put the site together yourself. Remember, I mentioned to you I'd been profiled on a site. (all that took was an email and a half decent film) Now with that link, loads of other people have put the film link on there blogs, sites anywhere. Funilly I've been profiled on loads of foreign sites, even had an article on Tiscali in Holland. It just goes crazy (this is all while I sleep) Put something out there and people will watch it. In the last 4 Days I've had just under 8000 visitors to the site. Its crazy, unfortunately only a small percentage send feedback, but at least you feel your getting an audience for your films. Try it.... HS Http://www.runnysugar.com/heydiddlediddle

I was profiled on Animwatch.com
I'll have a look at iweb, because I must admit I've not really heard much about it.
But as long as you get something on the web, it doesn't matter where its hosted or under what domain.
You should do it buddy, if you need any help, or whatever just drop me a note.
