Hey, I'd like to introduce myself to you. I'm a short film producer/director based in Cornwall, originally from Edinburgh. I am studying Film at University College Falmouth, after working freelance for a couple of years. At Falmouth, I have founded a filmmaking group, the Cornwall Independent Filmmaking Alliance (CIFA) It is an opportunity for students and locals interested in filmmaking to meet like minded people, network and make films. We run a monthly short film night at the University and are always on the look out for films to screen, I feel it would be really great to show a wide selection of whats going on in the UK. There are no bounderies, we will screen any film under 30 minutes, formats accepted are DVD, VHS and miniDV. If you are at all interested in showing your films to us please contact me at cifashorts@hotmail.com You can learn more about CIFA at cifa.bravehost.comI'm a great fan of Mr Meadows and its great to see that there are others out there that are supporting filmmaking in Britain. Cheers Neil

This is an awesome pursuit. I've been thinking about setting up a filmmaking society/group/club here (Stoke), but don't know if the interest is there. I'd certainly like to show a film there when I've one I think is good enough. Congratulations on getting it set up, salvador, it looks like a great thing to be a part of.

Will you be screening any donated short films to a private audience for no entrance fee? Just wondering about whether you would screen stuff which features music simply taken from a CD (basically uncleared music). I think it's pretty okay if such shorts are shown without making any money in the process. The whole CIFA thing looks amazing.... wish there was something like that round my way! I have thought about starting such a community too, but have been too scared!

Hey Salvador, I made a very short film (im talkin three minutes short!) which was hugely inspired by Shanes short "three tears for Jimmy Prophet" but moulded around one of my own experiences. Would you be interested in showing anything that brief? I think what your doing is really great by the way. Excellent stuff.

dave - I would prefer copyright free stuff if possible, because we are still undecided whether there will be an entry charge, but If you want to send the film anyway then it still may be screened.
deadmanrockports - Three minutes is great, the shorter the films, the more we can show!! We are showing a night of 2 minute films this month, so a 3 minute is no problem. email me at cifapresident@hotmail.com and i'll give u the submissions address etc
cheers
