I'm hoping to find one for a grand and a half, but I'm pretty sure a DVX100 can be easily found for two grand now. H Prestons in Malvern are selling them for that.
Does anyone know reliable and cheap places to try?

Um I have been watching cameras like the XL1 and 2 on ebay a few times and the prices are around the £1000 mark if this helps but these will be second hand for that price but there are a few reliable sellers on there.

Cheers, dazza. I've been wary of buying high-end cameras on eBay as I've heard horror stories about them coming from Hong Kong and being crap, but I might have to give it a go.

Hi, Sure I know what u mean Patrick, all though ebay is good i'm always slightly anxious when i part with a large amount of cash on there and would never buy from anyone who wasnt a proper power seller or in the UK, so far i havent had any real bad experiences, I bought a mini moto on there this morning so hopefully i wont have any problems there.

i like ebay for cheap things.. i know i certainly wouldnt buy a really expencive thing like a camera though.. i considered it when i wanted my XM2.. but i went through a jessops in the end because i wanted warrenty. Heres the nifty thing though, i found it cheaper on an internet site, took it into jessops, and they price matched! they went down from 1600, to 1400 which was awesome dunno if this applies to the camera you want though. ebay does seem a little risky although most of the time it is safe.. i'd more worried about warrenty.. cos if you buy it say 1500 quid and it all works and stuff its all good.. but if after a few weeks it breaks.. your simply screwed, nless you get it fixed, which costs loads.. nearly as much as the camera i could have thought. so yeha go for ebay if you want, could work, but sahops are so much more reliable, and you get warrenty thats my opinion anyway
