I can't help financially I'm afraid (too many wolves at my own door at the moment), but an idea I'm trying to pull off is one that you might have some success with - depending on how big your family/circle of friends is, you could hold a "fundraising do" with a disco and a raffle. Charge people a fiver, do a few raffle tickets on top of that (5 for a quid) with some basic prizes (box of chocolates, bottle of whiskey etc), and you could clear maybe five hundred quid in the night. The problem is the cost of hiring the hall and the DJ (but if the venue and/or DJ are contacts you've already made, they could come in at under £100).
For me, it's a way of getting my family and friends, none of whom are made of money, to contribute something and getting something out of it.
At the mo I'm struggling to find a decent-sized room for June 10th, but there are three guys in your key team, right? At best, if you could each do one at home, and do a combined one at uni, you could raise a few quid.
