Hi Guys This is the latest film I have made, it was shot about 2 months ago and the edit was a bit rushed and the sound is a bit dodgy in places due to the wind. Basically I came up with the outline and characters and then we just went for it, most of the dialogue is improvised and some of the acting especially mine is quite crap. The whole film was shot in an hour as the guy that played Mr Black had to go to work. Link: livedigital.com/content/140652/Give it a little bit of time to load up as Livedigital can sometimes be a bit slow. Check out the blank firing gun near the end as well I thought it made the film more realistic. Anyway let me know what you think. Cheers DazzaB ;D

It's fantastic for being shot in an hour. The acting wasn't bad at all(even yours ), the main guy has a great look and presence - he reminds me a bit of an actor called Valentine Pelka, who has been playing John Lennon in a play called "In The End". The little fella, the guy that was in the farmer film, he's very good too. And you were as good as they were, just as convincing in the role. I don't know if it was a stylistic choice or down to lack of time, but I felt the film didn't have enough coverage. It was almost all long or medium shots, I think some closeups would've helped. Possibly related to this is that it felt too long and slow-moving at times. A lot of the dialogue could've done with being cut down between the two hitmen, especially at the house. If you didn't have extra angles to go to, I know that would be impossible. The dialogue itself wasn't terrible, but some of it was akward and there was a good bit of repetition. The shots themselves, like I said I don't feel there was enough variation, but they looked pretty good. You used the locations well - I got the sense that Mr Black was quite wealthy from his dirty doings. In my opinion, you're improving as a visual director. All in all, it's a great achievement for something you did in an hour - heck, it'd be a great achievement if it had taken much longer. I think if the coverage was there to trim it down, it would make a great, fast, five or six minute film.

Hi Patrick many thanks for your comments and the compliments on the acting. I'm going to have a look for Valentine Pelka now as it has made me curious to see this guy.
Thanks for the idea about using some close up shots, I am definatelt going to take this into acocunt for my next film and try some more angles and shots, I agree there were not really many close shots at all. I completely understand I think the film is a little long myself, its funny my friend has done a very good edit of this film and has cut it down to 6 minutes but i need to get a copy of it to upload.
Mr Blacks place was rather grand, the people that own the actual house are millionaires, its an old barn conversion and really nice and the land they have is fantastic. It was a good location for the shoot.
Thanks again for the feedback matey its always great to get feedback. ;D

a genneraly great film dazxzab. i do agree with coyle though, there needs to be more shot variation, because at the moment the dialogue is the only thing keeping it interesting, and sometimes even that was a litt sort of.. repeated and there was some pauses where it was clear they were thinking of lines. the scottish bloke was probably the best actor, and of course you and the other guy were good too. the story was good, and the gunshots looked and sounded awesome. am i right in thinking you a did a dub over for the voices? it worked prety well, although at one point it did seem a little out of synch, but i understand that mst be hard to get right.
i loved that shot of when they first came into the barn, how the camera adjusted for the inside, and when when the door opened, the out side, with their silhoettes (spelling) and then finally adjusting back to the inside where we can see them. Best part of the film. welldone dazzab, good effort, just get those close ups and variation of shots next time!

Hi Ryd thanks for the feedback. Yea i know the part you mean when they come into the barn thats one of my favourite shots too. I am going to take on board what you guys say about shot variation and hopefully when I plan my new film i need to take this into acocunt in the planning phase.
The Scottish bloke was my bro he is real good at doing different accents which is great for the films. My new film i have actually scripted it all so hopefully there shouldnt be any pauses either and the guys dont have to find things to say. I dont think I have ever really used any close ups in any of my films really, I am going to have a go at this too in the new film.
Thanks again guys.

Lol thanks Hyde, he loves perfecting his accents mate, he can do Scottish, Irish, Geordie and Australian and N.Z his fave is the Scottish tho. He should be good tho as he is a drama specialist at Uni as part of his course.
