Hello Everyone ;D I was bored last night so I did this short 4 minute spoof documentary about 23 year old Neville the burger boy. Neville works in McDonald's but his passion in life is football. He briefly talks about football and about the World Cup 2006. Its all made up on the spot. Its not one of my best but i thought I'd try and do something to do with the world cup although I have kind of made myself look like a complete dick for the film

To begin with I didnt like it, but then when he was sitting at his laptop showing us pictures of his fave players and those pics came up I was like "haha this is actually pretty funny" and then I enjoyed the rest, definately not your best, but for what it is it was enjoyable.

I liked it quite a bit. Reminded me of some kind of Video Nation style segment that gets chucked on BBC2 every now and again for 5 minutes.
For some reason when he says that England are his favourite team, I was cracking up.
You should have done the reveal of the pics on the laptop a bit better though I reckon for more comedy impact!
Nice effort... especially as it was just a spur of the moment thing. Really great that you were spurred on by another persons short film on here! What a community! haha ;D

Have just posted a comment on the YouTube site, and for the record, it's pretty good mate. Lett's face it - we all know someone like Neville - that's the charm of it.
Nice one. Tom.

Hey Guys Lol thanks for all the positive comments I'm glad you thought it was alright, I hadnt made anything film wise for a while and after seeing the "Colin film" on the forum I thought I might try and do like a one person documentary spoof, as it was the world cup i thought it was a fitting topic lol ;D It was mainly made for a laugh and abit of a p!sstake. As some people have said everyone knows a Neville out there lol. I'm sure Neville will be all dressed up tonight cheering on England!

ha ha thats a great film man. funniest bit was the pictures, although like dave said should have been done better, what i think would have been good would be if someone was behind the camera, and sorta said "err what that nevville" and he goes "oohh ee.. i dunbno" and clickly clicks off. but yeah still good thinking, and funny stuff, and the character development was good. great effort dazza

I got that impression too, that he didn't really know what he was on about - that he had just been fed up with his McDonalds job and got caught up in the glamour of World Cup fever. Great job Dazza, it wasn't perfect but there some great comic moments in there (especially the attempt at the flip of the ball, and the gay Beckham photo) - I think you should keep working on it over time, like Shane did with "Where's the Money, Ronnie". The potential is there for a really top-notch character and film. I'm amazed at how well you guys manage to do in little to no time. I think I'm gonna revisit one of my own similar characters ("Bagman") this weekend! And this time I'll finish the fucker!

Hi Guys Hope your all well and ready for the weekend. ;D Thanks for the latest comments, reference Gadge comments lol well spotted I purposely collected up some Incredibles cartooni things to try and make Neville's bedroom look a bit like a child's like the teddy in the background of the computer shot and the inflatable chair, I thought it helped make him more of a child like character Your right when you say the character didn't have a clue about football, he only bothered with it because of the World cup, there are so many people like that ha-ha. I appreciate I could have done the film better, it was all a bit of a rush job I should have spent a little more time playing with the editing tools but I was rushing to get it on here lol. I might have a go at tarting it up a bit in places. Could anyone tell me where I can see "where's the money Ronnie?". I watched Shane's World yesterday on the bonus disc of once upon a time in the midlands, I never even knew it was on there but was well worth a watch. I made another film yesterday afternoon and evening which was a new style for me, it is meant to be an emotional piece and the style is its filmed in the day of a life of someone suffering from post traumatic stress from serving in Iraq and how even day to day tasks can be overcome with memories of what happened there. The other new part is that the story is narrated which I have never done before. Its about 5 minutes long and I haven't finished editing it all yet so it will hopefully be on here over the weekend. I have been quite artistic with it and tried some new shots like close ups based on feedback some of you have helped me with before. Personally I think its going to be one of the best I have done

Never knew Shane's World was on the bonus disc? What's the matter with you boy!

Thanks Dave I will have a look when I get home I really want to see it as have seen people posts about it :-)
Lol I know shame on me I have had the Once Upon a Time in the Midlands DVD since it came out and I never checked that bonus disk 2 and didnt know that Shane's world Gem was on there. I watched it yesterday and thought it was great and Tanks Tips which I think were real useful. I love Jimmy Prophet and The Poppa Squeeze affair and Maccas men, Paddy is awesome at changing charecter and accents. I also started to watch that other documentary on the bonus dvd Shane made, the one where he tours around promoting the film with Rhys Ifans, the one thing that always strikes me about Shane is what a bloody nice bloke he is and so down to earth :-)
