Well, we did this over a day. Just a little tribute to hitman and noir films, as we were just having fun with the style. It's not much but you may find it interesting...or maybe you won't, but it's here for you to check out.

That was pretty cool I thought - nice change to see an emo/mod kid injuring others as opposed to himself I like the beginning with the phone ringing, always a good way to grab your attention. Another shot I liked was the one of him from the rosebed... good contrast of imagery and tone there. The music did the job - wicked choice of score by the way - and I liked how it stopped for a bit when he found the right key. Clever way of notching up the tension. The scenes of him doing a reccie in the different rooms were smoothly cut together, and it was a good idea to have the time flash up when he found his victim (was that deliberate, that he was meant to take him out at dead on 1pm?) Bit confused at the end though - had the victim done himself in before the hitman could do it for him? I'm pretty sure I saw him blink before the door shut... not sure if that was the intention or not. Anyway, all in all pretty good I thought. By the way, was that a Colt .45 Double Eagle BB gun?? ;D

Not bad mate, nice use of camera angles, music was very good they used it in the film Leon as well which IMO is a cracking film.
Lol I also noted the victim opened his eyes at the end but I have had that issue loads of times when my friends who have been acting in my films either open there eyes or laugh.
On the whole a great effort, is this your first film? I had a 9mm Berretta for my films until it broke now I use a blank firer which is cracking as you get the sound and the smoke and effect from the gun. ;D

hey dude, awesome film! I must say i really enjoyed it. Some great camera movement, and shots. Like flashpoint i also loved the shot from behind the flowers, very well composed. The editing was smooth and the tension was well built up. You defintely know when to cut.
The only real critism i have, is the fact i don't think the whole film should have been hand-held camera work. There were some shots that definately needed a tripod. But some shots worked very well hand-held.
The ending was cool. I think I would have liked to see more of a reaction from the killer, like him being a bit more confused by the fact he's allready dead.
Dazzab, I thought the guy opening his eyes at the end meant that the guy wasn't actually dead, thats how i percieved it. Which i think is a very cool little twist at the end.
So cheynestoking was it an actor's mistake or a cool twist? be honest! Even if it was a mistake, it works quite well clearly! Welldone mate, great film. ooh i also loved the time things, very well placed, and kept it interesting.

Hello hello, well these replies are great, and to answer a few questions...
The corpse at the end, is me, and yes the blink was accidental with me being more obsessed with the camera and shots and stuff, so that look was to the camera, but I did pick up on it being a nice little twist, so I think i'm going to use that excuse from now on.
And the gun we used was a replica colt .45 from battle orders.co.uk which we've had for a while.
I understand what you mean about the need for a tripod, though we didnt take one with us. We had no plans for the day so David (the hitman) threw on this tie and stuff and we just worked out a little concept. So the stuff of us getting on the bus was quite guerilla , I just had to follow him with the camera at my waist while the bus was moving to avoid attention haha (We were only on the bus for about 5 minutes and it cost us £1.55, the bastards). That's also a reason I put it in slow motion to smoothen it out a bit and I don't think it would have worked were it not for the music. And the house we used, was my Grans, so we just showed up with this camera and had to move her around the house out of the way considering what room he enters. Ah, god bless her.
The time stuff was intentional, well it came to me in editing actually, though, yes, he was supposed to take the victim out dead on 1pm, and the whole thing was kind of taken from an idea I had for a longer short about a hitman who is about to finish his life of crime, he just has to off three more hits, though someone with a grudge starts killing them off before him. So I kind of took a bit from that, but within the actual short, I planned it to be the dude did himself in beforehand.
Anyway, glad you're enjoying it, keep the comments coming, they're really inspiring.

That was really good. Was a good idea to do it in black and white as well, Its one of those shorts thats such a simple idea but executed well and makes you think "why didnt I think of that?" know what I mean?
in other news, where can I get a gun like that? Dazz whats that you've got and how would I get one? cheers.

To anyone that buys a gun be bloody careful where and when you use it, you dont want to be accidently shot by your local firearms squad. I dont actually think you need to buy a gun for that misfortune, table legs in bags etc ridiculous

I liked the style of the short. Alot of imaginative shots in there.
Oh, someone else already asked, but what was the end supposed to mean with the bloke already being dead? I kind of thought that perhaps after all the hitman business, the 'target' had amusingly fallen in the bathroom and brained himself on the sink/toilet! haha
