Hello Shane and everyone.
As I explained elsewhere I'm attempting a feature article about Shane and his films, and I'm hoping I might get some responses to the following annoying nagging questions..
1. Which is better...3 weeks intensive work and a tiny budget, or 6 months and money no object?
2. Do you think some amount of improvisation is vital in producing a "Shane Meadows" film?
3. Do you see yourself as flying the flag for the East Midlands region, which has been largely ignored as a film location since the early 60's?
4. Did growing up in the 80's, the start of the home video renting era, have a big influence on you?
5. Paddy Considine has provided some uncompromisingly vivid local dialect in films like Dead Man's Shoes and A Room for Romeo Brass. Wee you determined to get such accents heard in your films ( did the Yanks understand it??)
6. Many of your films draw on your childhood experiences in Uttoxeter. Why do you feel that you need to put these episodes up on the screen ?
( I actually worked for a year in Uttoxeter at the end of the 80's. I lodged with a great couple near Marchington and spent hours walking and running their dog around the woodlands. Idyllic times..I guess you had to live in Uttoxeter to appreciate its qualities to the full! Nice pint of Bass in the Vaults though...)

In the review of dead Mans shoes Vareity said that the accents might be difficult to understand.
