Hi, I'm probably about to get shouted at but have any filmmakers on here used machinima to make films? I'm looking to have a bash but finding screen capture software a bit hard to use...

I;ve never heard of Machinima is it editing software?! Are you working on PC? I myself work on Mac. But i've seen a few editing programs mentioned on here for PC that are meant to be pretty good. What d'you edit on again DazzaB? I'm sure he, or someone else can help you out!
Why would you get shouted at?! Were all nice people here!

Machinima is basically films made using virtual people. For example, Second Life or World of Warcraft. I have a geology institute in Second Life that I built, with lava and caves and classrooms and I want to make a video tour of it. Aparently you can use screen capture software to video yourself (or rather your avatar) and make films in Second Life but all I've managed to do is fill up my computer with random clips of blackness or jerky clips of my own (avatar) bottom! I think YouTune has some second life videos kciking about including music videos but it remains a mystery to me. Ideally I'd like to shoot a short film in it, kind of like a really fancy storyboard.
ps i thought I might get shouted at cos it's not actually real actors, more very good looking cartoons!
