Hi Shane if you read this... I'm just wondering if there's any chance of This is England being part of the Stafford Film Festival 2006? Ray Johnson says he's been trying to get you to go and do a Q&A thing every year but something always comes up. Depending on when the film is finished and released, it'd be ace if you could come to Stafford for the fest next year. It's usually in about September or early October time. No worries if you can't though mate. Cheers.

Yeah, the festival is run by Ray Johnson, who is a teacher at the Stoke campus (and maybe Stafford as well). Ken Loach did a "Masterclass" a couple of years ago at it. Apparently they've tried to get Shane in a few times.
Are you going to do the BSc in Film Production, RyD? Or whatever it's called. I almost did a course like that at Stafford, but researched a bit and found it was mostly about web programming and that sort of thing for the first year. So I came to Stoke to do Film TV and Radio Studies, and now just Film Studies. Which is almost entirely essays. What a cunt.

aaah interesting (<to your first paragraph) (to your second>) yes i am going to do exactly that! it looks like a great course, and my brother does it and loves it, hes now in his second year, he said the second year is alot better but he didn't say anyhting about web programming from the first year? he seemed to have made a couple of films in that year and some scripts. but even if there is web programming, i'm interested in that too, so its all good! . entirely essays? OUCH, i couldnt deal with that, i just wanna make films, and thats what seems to be happens on the stafford Film Production Technology BSc so im happy im going, only problem is stafford is a bit of a shit hole.. but the course looks great, so im happy. hopefully they can get shane in for the stafford film festival, i'd be a super happy bunny! (wow, that sounded gay) cheers for the info mate
