We (me and Chris the editor) finished the first cut of the film on sunday morning. It has gone out to the financiers and they will watch it over Xmas. Fingers crossed. I just got back from Milan last night having met Ludovico Einaudi at his home. Oh my god! He played a brand new song for me on his home piano - I nearly cried my eyes out, It was the most awesome thing I'd ever heard (or seen). I showed him the film (he really liked it) and how I had used his music and Asked if he would write the score for the film. He agreed to come on board and write some brand new material. It was the perfect end to a perfect year. Merry Christmas to all folk and may your eggnog be fortunate over the coming months. X. Shady.

Does this mean it might be ready for Summer? I read the script and although it might not be there in the final film, the forest muck-about reminded me of my summers as a kid. I guess that's one of my favourite things about Shanes films- you can see 'real' people on the screen. Anyway I can't wait to see it- summer afternoon and somewhere they let you have a beer. Man, it's not even Christmas and I miss the sun.

so what kinda tone is this film looking like now the cut is done? i mean i loved the mix of light and dark in romeo and dead mans was right up my street with how dark it was so where does this film fit in compared to thoses two?
