We have three weeks of final polish time left on This is England before we finally finish the cut. It's been the usual roller coaster of emotions as the financiers have at times been less than enthusiastic about the film, in fact, some of them don't/didn't like/get it at all. A few weeks ago, I was on the verge of getting a train home and becoming a coldseal windows legend. As always though, I seem to find my way through and to be fair to the overlords, they are being very supportive now and are starting to like, dare i say love, the film and we are finally bringing the edit to a close.
Although I have final cut, It is not as straightforward as just doing what you like, when you like. As well as wanting to continue to get my films made, i have also gone way over budget with the edit time and to be fair they have been totally supportive. So it becomes a process of give and take as they give me cash and I agree to at least try ideas out. The great news however, is that I do have 'Final Cut' and the final film should be pretty much as god intended it.

Hopefully you'll get it shown at the cornerhouse in Manchester like you did with DMS. I had a good chat with you then shane... (and my phone went off in the middle of the Q & A - felt like a reeeet twat)

Good luck with it Shane. Looking forward to the world premiere in Bangor, Gwynedd! (well, I can dream, can't I!) I'd rather travel to a nice premiere, if invited...
