CDs being made in intro

New member here, so apologies if this has been mentioned before, but at the start, you see iconic images of 1983, although I could argue the Rubik Cube was a relic of 1980.....but you see what appears to be CDs being manufatured, but these didn't hit the shops till about 1985, 2 years from the setting of the film.

Wasn't Brother's In Arms one of the very first CD albums? Not sure what year that came out.

Brothers in Arms wasn't released till 1985, and I think it was the first million selling CD issue.
I think the prototype CD was probably formatted in 1980 as you suggested, but this wouldn't have been massed produced as the images suggested.
Still, thanks for the help and not calling me a nosher for something probably trivial......I'm more concerned with the flak I'll get knowing about Brothers in Arms!!
