Its a fictional town of Nottingham On Sea. It's a bit of Nottingham, Bit of Grimsby, Bit of Lincolnshire .... Shane has commented on the accents before saying he hired the actors for there acting and not because they all sound like the come from the same place. Perhaps in this fictional town there is a mix of all sorts!
Hope this has answered your question Kev,

I can only comment on the area around Combo's flat and the mums house which are in the St.Anns area of Nottingham. The small scout hut type shed (Chruch of God) which is seen regularly when they are hanging around the streets is at the top of St. Matthias road with the junction of Gordon Road below by the predestrian tunnel. Combo's flat is the one I'm interested in. As a youngster in the late seventies and early 80's my brother and i used to stop at my grandmothers who lived at 33 St.Matthias road which had the same walkover gantry to get to the front door as combo. In one of the seen number 39 is quite visiable. Where the asian lads are playing football that would be just below the entrances to the above flats, we'd also play down there but would be ushered off as there are flats below at the side of where the football takes place. I remember the flats/masionettes being very hot and stuffy and they all had those tilting windows. St.Anns is less than a mile from Nottingham City centre. I wouldn't recomend it as part of a tourist trail as it's pretty much a no go area at various times. But if you want you can catch the Number 21 bus from the city centre and pass through the area to Carlton. To Shane. Nottingham City Council didn't fit those alarms in the 80's as on the mums house.

Here here. If you read some of the London press you'd think Nottingham is a warzone or something. That's definitely not the case.

Blimey.. that was some blast! What a great find Mr Thribb! That's one of the places I visited when I was 'on location' and doing my turn as an extra!
