Sorry if this was explained in the film, or if another thread has already answered, but I didn't pick up what Combo was in the clink for other than Woody was very grateful for Combo taking the fall - does anyone know?

It isn't explained in the film, which I think works really well, because even though Woody is a great bloke, he might not be all he seems to be. The cast worked out some back stories for the characters, and one of the bizarre suggestions for the prison time was that Combo and Woody were involved in some kind of bungled Helicopter theft! haha

I like to think what whatever Woody did, he deeply regrets it. It's why he's so nice i reckon, making up for it ind of thing.

YEAH APPARENTLY COMBO STOLE A HELICOPTER THAT HIM AND WOODY WHERE AFTER ONLY WHEN THEY GOT IN IT AND THE POLICE CAME COMBO COULDNT ESCAPE AS THE CHOPPER WAS ON AN ISLAND AND HE COULDNT SWIM SO WOODY GOT AWAY. OR SOMTHING LOL GADGE!

So, what you're saying is if he'd been a fan of David Wilkie, none of it would have happened (or Duncan Goodhew, but personally, I like the tash).
