Is it possible for you guys to subtitle all Shane Meadows films trailers pretty please!! I do prefer dotsubs as the subtitles are embedded as opposed to projectreadon which has a subtitle pop up separate screen and if the film is buffering/paused the subtitle seem to carry on. But hey beggars’ can’t be choosers. If you look at this link it tells you how its done with Dot subs dotsub.com/films/rocketboom_april_26_2007/index.php?autostart=true&language_setting=en_425Perhaps once the volunteers done it submit it to Shane meadows site where you can view the clips. I know it’s a cost issue but surely there are some volunteers who are happy to do it if you do don’t forget add your name on at the start or end of clip ie “subtitled provided by Shane meadows forums fans” I am sure you’re allowed to do this with trailers but the film itself rest with the DVD distributors. Link to www.projectreadon.com/dotsub.com/

That you so much Paul That was brilliant very touched that you took time to do this. Was worried after about 5 second nothing was happening but eventually showed up, you did brilliant job considering you only started using it and subtitled it for the very first time So thank you again Paul I really appreciate it. Cant wait till it gets shown on tv gawd knows how long I have to wait though!! I am going to post about this on a deaf forum and to 2 deaf mailing list ( I run one of them) it has over 2500 subscribers. However I have to warn them wait till it comes on Film4 in order to watch it subtitled or pray to god that film4 show all Shanes films as they subtitle it for us Deafies. They shown Dead Man’s Shoes recently subtitled but I don’t know if it gets shown again. I have emailed the DVD distributor still no reply. What’s worrying me that they could turn round and say if I had asked for it subtitled before the did a disc press run then they would have added subtitles. Also I have read somewhere that DVD distributors or company that does subtitles find it hard to do so as the directors /film makers are too lazy to provide the transcript I don’t know if that’s true or not.

Good luck Fintan with hopefully getting Shanes work with subtitles. It sucks that you havent been able to appreciate the work fully as the DVD doesnt have them. Shane's a top bloke I'm sure if he knew about problems like this he might be able to influence it.
