I saw TIE finally after an agonising wait today! I was flicking through the local rag and low and behold my local Multi Screen Cinema were showing it today for one day only, phone calls were made , shift's were swapped there was NO way I was going to miss it. The anticipation waiting for it to start was Immense, both me and Darren were slightly nervous at the prospect at seeing ourselves on the big screen and we both realised it was nearly 2 years! since we were sat on the set of TIE watching Shaun meet the gang. I can't really give the film a fair review to be honest i'm still getting over the fact I got to see it before September! I'll just say that it was well worth the wait and that it delivered in spades! The performances were uniformaly excellent, the film was lean or all killer no filler as they used to say, oh and I spotted Dave twice I think? ;D It's not often you wan't a film to be longer though, although as me and Darren discussed afterwards it's probably because we've read about the development of the film on here for so long and knew of deleted scenes that didn't make it. At least I can browse this section of the site now without fear of spoiling it for myself ! I'll stop yacking on now and go and sit and think about the film more. Oh one more thing the cinema where we saw it have Poster auctions for charity, I put a 15 quid bid on the TIE one, it's only on for today so fingers crossed I'll have it tomorrow, the manager thought so anyway. ;D
Yours grinning like a chesire cat.
Phill ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Phil sorry if I should already know this, but who/where are you in the film?

Phil sorry if I should already know this, but who/where are you in the film? You'll find out from Phill and Darren's report! www.auat24.dsl.pipex.com/website2/report1.htmYes Phill... I am in it twice. haha. When I watched it for the first time (at the London Film Fest last year) I couldn't really concentrate on the film because of anticipation of my big screen appearance! haha Did yourself and Darren have the same problem? You'll enjoy the film loads more on second viewing, and not just because the anxiety has gone! haha You and Darren play a real part in the story too... because Shaun walks past as you open up.... Shaun wanders into underpass... where Gadget turns up later with his pie. He must have got it from your chippy! He must have been waiting for the chippy to open as he was also getting someone to go in the shops and get booze for him. ;D Not sure about my character! I like to think that I am perhaps Meggy's cafe dwelling brother! haha I'm only saying that because of costume similarities.

Yea even though were on in the first 10 minutes it was a pretty freaky experience and my mind was doing over time. Meggy's Cafe Dwelling brother ;D Darren did notice you wore the same flat cap and glasses combination as he did in his chippy outfit! ;D I would have walked out and bought another ticket if I hadn't have had to get home and do my fatherly duties! It was on three times today and as I said only today, still for a four o'clock showing on a wednesday afternoon in West Cumbria there must of been 20 -25 people in. A lot seemed to be old Skins, glad the local BNP lot didn't turn up!

Phill mate - hope you're well - glad you got to see the film before September - that really would have been a killer. Especially given the fact that it would have been almost two years after you did you bit.

Comp it's been killing me staying away from the TIE section! The film blew me away, now I've sat back and thought about it, and discussed it in length with my amigo Darren, we both decided that Shane has yet to make a film that dissapoints. Darren has even written a essay on Combo! ;D He was 11 0r 12 in 82 so I trust his judgement, I was 5 I just remember the clothes and the crisp packets ;D
