hmmm doesn't say if its going to be subtitled yet. Found out the cost of putting subtitles onto DVD from another site It's a 'per programme minute' cost, somewhere in the region of £10.00 per programme minute per language And all Shane Meadows films won the award on Hall of Shame from DVD-subtitle website Have you contacted the distributer? I thought subtitles were standard on most discs. Seems a real shame if you can't watch any of his films. I don't really know what I'm talking about but isn't there a plug in type thing for subtitles on TV/DVD etc? Yes i have contacted the distributor no reply, Subtitles are standard on Hollywood films not British On all DVD player you select subtitles and then press play its a software integrated in DVD's So whats you best guess id be watching TIE 2009 perhaps when shown on Film4?

Seems really unfair actually that mate. Especially them not replying to you. We take these things for granted.

No need to wait it seems - the DVD is all over eBay
(Yes - I know they're fakes. When I tried to buy DMS on eBay ages ago, it was much easier to find a fake than the real thing - I hope that TIE won't be the same !!)

I need my DVD extras and the knowledge that I am not giving my cash to a cheeky c**t.

eBay really need to sort this problem out. As a seller of genuine DVDs and hard-to-find VHS on there, I despair when I see pirated goods that are being offered up when I'm having some of my legitimate items pulled because of their poxy filter finding something offensive in my listings - case point: I had two DVDs removed becasue I mentioned the fact that they were released on a German label called X-Rated Kult Film. They weren't porn, just Italian murder mysteries from the seventies. Really gets my goat...

Got this from Joe who is Deaf.... “Unfortunately we are not providing this service yet but we are looking into it for future releases.” What services? That’s where it’s tricky…who does the subtitling…the DVD distributors or the film producers? I would say it’s the producers rathar than the distributors - since they only slap on all the movies etc from the producers onto a DVD, put it in a pretty case, and get it into the shops. Look at this: imdb.com/title/tt0480025/companycreditsProduction Companies Big Arty Productions EM Media FilmFour Optimum Releasing Screen Yorkshire UK Film Council Warp Films Distributors IFC Films (2007) (USA) (theatrical) IFC First Take (2007) (USA) (theatrical) Madman Entertainment (2007) (Australia) (all media) NetFlix (2007) (USA) (DVD) Optimum Releasing (2006) (UK) (theatrical) Based on that I would say that the Optimum Releasing are probably the wrong firm to get in touch with. FilmFour is one of the producers and they’re not exactly a small firm - they produce quite a few good movies with one of their more famous being 4 Weddings and a Funeral. They have the equipment and resource to do subtitling. However Optimum Releasing should have explained why there’s no subtitles - ie they didn’t get a subtitle track - in which case it’s not their fault but the producers. If they did get a subtitle track but didn’t slap it on, then it’s their fault…

From their reply it seems that Optimum don't have subtitles on their releases at all... but are 'looking into it'.
Is this the case with all Optimum DVDs?
