Well, at last........ a Shane film getting a national Aussie release over here as of this Thursday.
Managed to get to a preview screening last night and i can honestly say that having waited literally over a year (maybe longer?) to see the film having followed the progress on this site i was (unsurprisingly) blown away. The hairs on my neck were on end as the film started - to see a new film from Shane at the cinema is such a great feeling especially when youre so far from Notts!
Anyway, for anyone who may be interested TIE closed the Melbourne International Film Festival last Sunday. This is a high profile evening indeed as the MIFF is by far the biggest and most important film fest over these parts. And they usually save what they believe is the best film of the fest for this evening.
Anyway, missing Notts as ever.

PS: Dave, love the cameo with those shutters ! That was a nice action you had going on there.

I'll say "G'day" back too - mad that you've had to wait so long ain't it considering how we're all so 'global' nowadays (Internet being an obvious example) - the DVD is out on 3rd Sept here, and it's only getting a release in Aus now?
Madness!
Nice to meet you by the way.

Youre welcome mate. Again, congrats to all involved. Sorry Dave about the identification mix up! Will view properly when the DVD arrives.
Also cheers Dave for all the clips youve been posting on youtube regards anything Meadowsy. I can imagine these can take a long time to sort and put on there and being a Meadows fanatic i watch them all and they are great to view whilst being away from the UK.

PS: Posh fella on the Newsnight review: what an utter arse!

I'm really excited about this release, too. Just watched a fabulous review by Margaret and David (the Aussies among us will know who I'm talking about), it was wonderful, although I didn't want to see the clips because I still haven't seen the film. Can't wait until Thursday.

What I would like to see is the "Southbank Show" on Shane - I missed the b*gger when it was on. Pity it ain't on the DVD (as far as I know) but with all the extras that are there anyway, it'll surely be value for money! N>
