Chanel Cresswell and Danielle Watson spilling the beans on what Shane Meadows is 'really like' had me tears of laughter... Very funny! Yeah that was possibly my favourite bit in the entire extra's aswell.. to be honest, that whole section has a really good 'workshop' presence about it, what with our man at the top 'Ian Smith' givin a run down, me and sophie ellerby dishin sum answers and shimm and whoever else..

BEST BIT BY FAR IS JOE GILGUNS O.C.D FOR TOUCHING HIS YOU KNOW WHAT! GADGE! That was my favourite bit of what I've watched so far. Especially when the make-up lady realises she's touching that very hand.

I listened to the commentary track tonight - great stuff and really quite funny. Dave, Phill and Darren all get a mention from Shane as they appear onscreen, too!

watched most of the extras on the dvd......the behind the scenes stuff is all very good, watching the haircuts was very funny and in particular joe gilgun comes across as a very funny bloke.....
Also enjoyed the deleted scenes, especially the one in the headmasters office, as the headmaster was played by my old drama teacher dave laws.....good scene, although I can understand why it was left out as the shot of shaun wincing at the sound of the bully being caned maybe had more effect than the stern talking to....

Has anyone ever found, or know of any 'Easter Eggs' on any of Shane's DVD's?

Has anyone ever found, or know of any 'Easter Eggs' on any of Shane's DVD's? I keep forgetting to ask if there is one on the This Is England DVDs... ... there is one on the Dead Man's Shoes DVD. If I remember correctly... go to the sound set-up menu, then select any of the available options. The telephone in the corner of the screen should ring. You can now select the telephone and it starts a ten minute (I think) first attempt at the DVD commentary... that kind of runs out of steam.... Paddy 'hits a wall'! haha and I get my first ever mention on a commercially available DVD!

Best DVD extras I've seen, the workshp/rehersal part was brilliant as I think I really gives an insight into how Shane directs

Cheers Dave, I already found the one on DMS and actually played it first before the real commentary, I remember thinking that this is a bit shit and was releived when I found the proper commentary. All those fantastic extras on TIE and I'm asking for more, I feel ashamed.

I have to say all the workshop/behind the scenes stuff was excellent and gave a great insight. I was disappointed with the deleted scenes though if I'm honest, I was expecting a lot more. It's been mentioned on here that lots of footage had to be culled. Then when I watched the film with commentary last night it keeps referring to stuff that was cut that would be on the DVD and has never made it, how come? Don't get me wrong its a good 2 disc DVD but there's more stuff out there, why not get it all on disc?

Don't get me wrong its a good 2 disc DVD but there's more stuff out there, why not get it all on disc? I completely agree. I watched all the deleted scenes... then the commentary, and shane and mark mention all this stuff that'll go on the DVD and it isn't there... combo talking to frank harper for example... not a deleted scene. I also as above stated would have liked to see the combo and woody scene outside the cafe, but cheers for clearing it up Dave! **SPOILER** (pointed out by Dave... and Ryd is supposed to be on spoiler watch! tut tut) My fave deleted scene is the one where shaun and combo are in the car after the beating of milky. I dont think the dialogue really works... but i love all of the external shots, and shaun walking alone again, very much a parallel with shaun earlier in the film all alone. Some really nice shots in there. The rest of the extras are excellent and very interesting. The hair cutting one was good fun! I think it would have been cool to have some commentary over the deleted scenes though explain them a bit. no easter eggs found then?
