Hi there,
I've just spent the best part of two hours reading this blog on the Guardian website, debating the best and worst films this year. Though TIE was not mentioned, however, it was brought up in the responses of that piece where readers have laid into the film. Of course, these are the people who go and see films based on Ian Mcgwin (or whatever his name is) books and said it was the most overated film, along side with Control.
However, both films got defended, but I could argue with those people about both films and Shane's work for hours.

You might be interested to know, or already know, that The Guardian's official list of best 20 movies of 2007 places TIE at 14. Control is at no 1.
IMHO TIE is better than Control, more honest, less affected. But that's just MO!
