Just seen This is England last night in Gateshead at the Tyneside Cinema. Absolutely superb piece of film-making. Brilliant performances, so emotionally truthful and making links between enotional psychology and politics. Brilliant. Great humour, warmth and compassion as well and it looked good an' all! What a winner!

*SPOILERS**
I really liked the parts in the film when Combo did those speeches the first on to the group urging them to join him and the one he did to just sean, powerful stuff and with the 2nd speech never quite sure whether he is just manipulating sean or in his twisted way really cares about him, although I suppose as his violent outburst at the end shows he cant really control himself enough to care about anyone what does anyone else think?
