Does anyone have any info on what to expect from this cut? Shane? Will it be a dramatic change in direction for the film, or just a few extra bits/alternate takes? Did you have all control wrested from you as the suits took over? Will we see the film you intended, or will your vision still be compromised in a "best we could do" kind of way? Will you digitally re-introduce Paddy in the lead role? Was Paddy even supposed to be in the film? I have more questions, but my arms are getting tired and I'm annoying myself.

It will be interesting to see the re-cut of OUATITM and if it will make the film better. For me it never actually felt like a Shane Meadows film because all the actors had such different accents it taken away the realism that Shane has in his films thus all the stars being household names. Comedy scenes though i still think it delivered like the talk show parts, i hope they arnt altered too much because the comedy timing was bang on there.
Some good questions there pal.

Really interested to see what Shane does with this cut.....I guess it takes time to get these things sorted. From what I gather from Shane's post, it'll be a very different soundtrack, plus a few extra scenes that were cut from the original.
OUTIM is a bit of an enigma isn't it? There aren't really any bad performances and there are some lovely bits (the shot of the old folks dancing in the bandstand remains one of my favourite bits from any Meadows film), but it just seems out of kilter with the other films. Personally, I think it would have worked better if Jimmy had been a less sympathetic charcter. I remember (vaguely now) Robert Carlyle on the 'extras' saying that as originally written Jimmy was straightforward scum bag, but he changed the character mainly because at that point in his career he was tired of playing bad sorts. Seems that little by little interventions chipped away at the film moving it away from the original conception. Real shame. Again, will be interesting to see how this comes out.
And Shane, any further news on a possible Small Time/Where's the Money Ronnie release on DVD? All the new people on site really should see this ;D A Xmas pressie maybe? Here's to hoping........
