Hi there, i'd like to think that i would be able to produce the film i've written myself but the truth be told it is impossible for me to film the script on my current budget. Just the kind of script i've written really.
Could anyone give me any advice on how to approach literary agents that deal in screenplays? Or better still, could anyone make any recommendations (i know i'm being cheeky asking this).
Thanks.

I don't think my mate's got an agent. He just makes calls himself to places that offer grants.

Is it a short or feature length script you have? Many agents won't consider representing a writer on the back of shorts - they want to see a feature script. Most literary agencies have a film department that deal with screenplays - why not send a synopsis of your script to production companies? If they like it they will be able to raise the money to make it.
If you're looking for agents the easiest way is to get yourself a copy of the 'Writer's Handbook' or go online and search literary agents.

Agreed. As far as getting a literary agent, I think you may be better just looking for a producer. It's just as difficult to get a hold of one, and they won't necessarily care about you having an agent first. Go that route, and you should be fine.

The problem is that i've talked to lots of producers in the past and nearly all of them say that 'They don't look at unsolicited scripts'. This means they want to speak to someone that represents me such as an agent.
Been fishing on IMDB Pro, some good opportunities on that for optioning your script.
Thanks folks, i'll need to plug away at the writer's and artists yearbook.
