I am wondering if this is one of the things that is holding people back! Umming and Ahhing is what people do! Might have it compiled by Christmas at this rate!

Yeah i worried about umming and ahhing and sounding like a right nob but then I realised I am a right inarticulate nob so it is what it is! I think as long as people sound enthusiastic about it thats all that matters. I've heard a few boring commentaries from cast and crew of various stuff and they have far more insight than we do.

I've only just found out about this. Jill can I pair up with you (would that be an option) or have you already done your bit?

Carolyn Considering the lack of contributions so far, I wouldn't be surprised if someone was willing to drop out and hand over their section to you Carolyn. Anyone want to give up their section??

Thanks Dave. I don't know what standard I could come up with though. Would have to think things through a bit. If anybody else wanted to share a slot I can link in by telephone and you could record at your end (would work good if you had a speaker phone). Carolyn x

Carolyn Hey Carolyn, my copy of TIE came back this morning and I spent an hour watching my clip, thinking about what I was going to say and then trying to make the words sync with the images (this was much harder than I thought it'd be) before I read your post. Sorry, but if I try to coordinate with you, I just don't think I'll get it done Edit: I did it on my mp3!

Hi Dave
Seems like I missed the boat on this one, never mind look forward to seeing the results.
Saw the other message from Shane about personal replies - I've been so busy writing the thesis I've not visited the site for ages (or gone to the cinema even though I teach film). Do you have any advice about how I can influence SM into a giving an interview? I may fail my phd if I don't get one and a hundred fluffy kittens will be made into pies.
Thanks
Clair

Dave, I thought I'd managed to record mine, but have now discover that I haven't (properly). Will have another go, but what are the options for sending this to you-preferred and others? Thanks.

I think I can handle any audio file you can throw at me! I am also trying to balance the sound levels of all the clips, so if yours is ultra quiet or loud, I will be fiddling with it anyway, so don't worry. Of course quiet clips with boosted volume will get quite hissy... but I'm not fussed. Hyde, do you or your laptop have a mic? I can't see this ever being completed now with all this techno know-not. I am not entirely sure, but can't people record on their mobile phones these days? I only have the lamest phone on the market that has a display like a calculator, but if you have a more modern device, can you not record audio? Or perhaps video if you can't just do audio. I can get the audio from that. Obviously you don't have to film yourself, just so long as you are audible!

I did mine on my phone which is one of the sony erricson walkman jobbies but the headsets have a built in mic for hands free use. I would have thought anyone who has a phone less than a year or two old could do it unless its an ultra-basic £15 quid job.
