Reccomend me one. I've been umming and ah-ing over getting one but the prices have slightly put me off.
Unemployment's a bitch but I've got £400+ in a Northern Rock account that's just been lying there for god knows how long.
Just window shopping, at the minute.

Hi. For a pro quality camera your looking at quite a bit of cash £1000 up BUT you get the DVD quality and sound from it. My new camera was £1300.
If your just starting out I would reccomend just getting a good little camera with a firewire port so you can upload your digital footage to your computer. You can then make quite a good little film and also see if you enjoy filmmaking and if its worth eventually upgrading.
My second camera was just a Sony handycam which was brand new and £100 on ebay and perfect for getting used to film making, editing, etc. Just ensure you buy DIGITAL 8 and not HI8 if you buy a Sony.
Good luck

Fuck that, then. Nevermind.
EDIT: Sorry, I saw £1000 and immediately switched off. There's no way I'm spending that much on anything. A cheap handycam looks like a decent option.

I just got a Canon HV20 which does HD DV and regular SD - image quality is great, its small and has a big screen (for its size) - has manual control etc. and from what I've shot with it so far seems damn fine for the money! (£560 quid ish)

Both me and dazza got one mate. They're awesome. Called a Rode Video Mic if you're wondering, you can nab one for about 60 quid. Recommended by the Meadows himself!
