We just telecined our first ever reel of Super 8 we shot earlier this year to test the camera we bought on Ebay. Its just alot of fun to watch back, I'm sure it'll have us in tears in 20 years time!
Enjoy...

I still divn't get the fascination with Super8 beyond the fact it makes things look old. Am I scum?

Yes. ;D
I see where you're coming from, its a very distinct format to use - the reason some people still use it (and love it) is because in terms of how you shoot it, all of the same rules as other film formats - which is very good preparation and alot of fun. Theres nothing like projecting your rushes in front of a room full of mates either!

P.s.
It's just a taste thing and depends on what filming styles your into. I do recommend you watch a feature on Super8 though however just to see what you can do with a budget, something like Derek Jarman's The Garden (well, almost a budget...!)

Aye, the only thing I remember seeing on Super8 was this old fella's holiday snaps from lord knows when. It was just very creepy as I kept thinking I was watching this man's family secrets or something. Plus I thought he was a paedo.
I went into his house once to fix his PC and he saturated the walls with drawings of dogs.
Would it be wrong of me to make a film and some money out of that?

Sounds like you could be onto something there...
Either an award winning film about some past trauma, or a particularly juicy episode of Trisha.

I can't quite fathom why he gave us the tape. I only assume it's because he thought my dad was like his best mate, or something. Christ, I'm writing this down. Anybody fancy filming it?

Regarding the T-shirt idea, wait until you see my Straight 8 entry, I don't think it'll disappoint. The shadows stuff was alot of fun, we could present...Silhouette: The Movie. Thanks for the kind words, if you want a Super 8 camera Ryd, go on ebay mate. There are loads on there quite cheap.

I've got 2 spare(ish) ones. Although neither is in 100% working order, you'd need your own light metre etc. If I dig it out, I'll send you more details. You could have it for the price of postage. I'll keep you updated.
