Tried typing a message in the chat room but apparently my laptop needs a good kicking, not sure if that will help but its worth a try.

Now you come to mention it, that sounds like an issue that arose when tried the same chatroom ages ago.
The chat room uses flash, so it maybe that you don't have a new enough version of flash installed? It's probably not as simple as that though, these things never are!
