Yep - BIRDWATCHING... if you think it's a bit 'anoraky' or 'trainspotting related' why the HELL did ye open this thread to look i the first place? I suggest you leave now. Still here? Well, just to say this is why I ain't been online much bombarding you with my usual cack - I've been out with the binocs. mooching around my local area in order to spot birds. Does anyone else on here do this? N.

I don't but my dad is obsessed with it... when I lived with my parental units he used to try and get me up at stupid o clock on weekends to get me into it - didnt happen. His idol is Bill Oddie. Maybe when I get a bit older Ill find myself doin it.

Bird watching? Darts? My god, the dark underbelly of traditional British past-times. Throw in a stag-weekend to Blackpool and you've got a documentary for Sky One.

I do like our feathered friends, and will happily watch birds hop, swim and and fly about if I'm somewhere where birds happen to be....
... but setting out to spy on birds by hanging about in woodland with special equipment.... that's for perverts! ;D Soon Chewbaxter will be slipping into the seedy realm of 'up-nest' photography!

Bl**dy hell - I never thought of that! Here... now TRUE this... one of the maddest things re: birdwatching 'hotspots' in the Wigan area... three are also 'premier dogging spots' which is rather uncomfortable (the thought that is, I've never 'dogged' so I don't know the comfort level of that there pastime). So it's pretty unnerving when you're mooching about with binoculars to think that there's 'potential naughtiness' going on nearby to which you are gratefully oblivious! And that's my statement, Officer! N. P.S. Yep okay folks... maybe there is something 'nerdish' about it all, but I reckon it's better than sitting fecking about on the XBOX 360... or watching football... etc. etc. - controversial I know... BUT... I reckon if Shane M. were to post here saying he was a 'birder' then a lot of the 'Shane Groupies' here would big up the whole birdwatching thing and this thread would have loads more posts. Mind you - if he said it was all 'cack' though... Hmm... N.

If he jumps off a cliff I'll chance my arm and see if his battered beanbag body can provide a soft landing spot.
If he's just big-boned, I'm fucked.

If he's just big-boned, I'm fucked. I'll tell you who did have big bones... Dinosaurs! Anyhow - where is this cliff... what time do we get there, and will Shane be able to sign me DVD covers BEFORE or AFTER the proposed 'leap'? N.
