SUPER 8 (another thread about it)

HELLO! So i know there's already threads out there about super 8.... and i could do the research on the website... but i'm sooo lazy!
Anyways i;ve just bought meself a super8 camera! It's a Bell & Howell FILMOSONIC XL. Has Focus Matic, great zoom, and even sound! Ha ha. No mic though ha ha. Came with a case and instructions and i got some Kodac Kodachrome films for it too! Done some filming!
So anyway, heres the thing. I'm off to Paris in 3 weeks time with my girlfriend, and I really wanna get some B E A utiful super 8 footage and edit a nice film out of it. I have my film cartridge... but I don't know how where to get any more... so I planned on using this one for Paris. But the girlfriend has suggested using this one as a test sending it off getting it developed and seeing what its like... then getting another for Paris.
So how long does it take to develop and telecine? And where's the best place to send it off for this to be done?! Bearing in mind I live in Cambridge. If i send a whole load off (my dad wants some of his old ones developed) will it take longer for them to send it back?
So do i keep my same film and go to Paris and chance it?! Or do some test footage and see what its like beforehand?!
