I lost faith in them when they compared Amusement Parks in Fire as a crossover between the Pixies and My Bloody Valentine.
Shane's doing a bang up job but he's not exactly a showboat. I'm not subtle enough to really praise directors unless they're completely off their tits (Lynch) or decadant whores (Kubrik).

That is hilarious! My vote for best british director goes to Mystic Meg for her work on Episode 15,679 of Home and Away, her use of fade to black at Sally's wedding was majestic. Do people really have that much spare time

at least if they spend all their time on computers spouting shite they can't reproduce. Like any of them have birds anyhow.

Think some people should go out and make their own movies or at least have some involvement in the film making business before passing poor comments on other peoples work and spend more time looking at what they have been doing with there lives. filmsuk.art.officelive.com

Nah, that's a rather exclusive and poncey way to see it. You don't need involvement to know what you're on about. It does help but, ultimately, it boils down to knowledge.

Do people really have that much spare time Ashamedly...I'm one of the bores who kisses goodbye any chance of frivolous fanny fun and indulges in these internet rope-pulling contests. Horribly addictive...but it allows me to vent my envious bowels in the form of anonymous rat-faced 'hair pulling''. The internet = serious business, apparently. What does Shane think about this new wave of DIY reviewing/critiquing?

I thought that was quite an entertaining discussion by a bunch of passionate sounding fans of British film. Some bizarre, ill informed opinions but then that's just my opinion...
