What a bumper crop! The Le Donk DVD looks particularly bumper! What's this American lark? Someone is claiming ownership of the title, or the whole concept? It's probably not something you can discuss though I guess. There is a Paramount flick from the late 70s of the same name. Have no idea if that has anything to do with it though... My, that synopsis sounds very fair. There's also a 1933 musical of the same name. Luckily, all involved are very dead. Given the lack of parity between the 1978 film and yours, they shouldn't really have a case.

I could easily take offense at that, but actually I think you're right! I've been running down a list of American filmmakers in my head, and I can't think of any working today (established or up-and-coming) who would be better qualified to tell Bartley's story than either Shane or Paddy. :-\

Can't wait to see 'Le Donk' Shane! Thats one piece of your work thats given me inspiration for my current and first film project.
All i can say is.. "Gerrit out, lets av a look at it then"
Also being in Notts-in-shire I'm only a couple of junctions away from a Sheffield screening.

I have also been inspired by this film's style.... I'd definitely come up to Sheffield for a screening. Depends on the date of course. can't wait for all the releases!

Keep my seat warm. I'm there if there's a screening. Would you stretch to a Nottingham screening. Or you could do a Micheal Jackson style synchronised multi release with the film starting at precisely the same time in a few select cinemas around the country and a live q&A link up to the Sheffield one via skatalite (Like National Lottery Euro millions).
