Anyone know good Animation programs

Thought i would ask and see if there are anyone on here who has dabbled in making animations like myself and what programs used.
I used to do short animations when i was a kid on a old program called Deluxe Paint on the Commodore Amiga, It was a very good program at the time.
I have recently unearthed my old Animations on VHS and had them put on disk, But would like to clean them up, possibly re-edit them if anyone could help me.

I dabble with animation myself and find Flash to be pretty flexible and user friendly. Flash is kind of easy-to-learn and a rewarding app to use. Once you've grasped the concept of symbols and states and movie clips within movie clips within movie clips until your head hurts (that took me a while) you'll be well away. I use it in conjunction with Illustrator and PhotoShop.

stop pro is the best in my opinion, you can use any type of camera to take one frame per second and it is very easy to use, you just click a big red button

Cheers ill look them up, been working on the old animation last night, re-editing it on windows movie maker to put on dvd but noticed some gaps in the animation that are niggling me now and need filling in.
Do you have to pay for flash and stop pro?

Thats pretty good wouldnt mind having a go at that myself, what i was meaning animation was as in cartoon animation.

Ive put a thread on here with a link to the stuff we did on deluxe paint.

Anyone know of any program you can make cartoons on?

paint shop pro has a good animation prog, i once did one, ill see if i can dig it out

Blender is great, and free!

pretty professional software though
i still dont know what im doing, but there are tutorials out there
