I found this wonderful little curio American Movie through iTunes last week, and I think many here would love it and nod along in recognition. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zCIxYfig04kThe guy is a hopeless dreamer, but fiercely pushing to make his movie and surrounded by some original oddballs. Some standout moments and some really sad parts too. Do a search on the iTunes store and you can rent the movie for £2.50 or something. Trust me - it's great.

Ha ha. It's great huh? The part where Mike talks about his drug experiences. I cried laughing.
*SPOILER*
Mark: So, Mike, has this been cathartic for you? Mike: Oh yeah, really cathartic. Mark: Do you even know what cathartic means? Mike: No. Mark: I think it means to get stuff out of yourself, you know? Mike: Oh in that case, yeah, it's been really, really cathartic.

It's also as funny as dogs on skateboards. A must for anyone who has twisted the arm of a family member to hold the boom mic or (as in this movie) got their clueless mum to be a DoP. Fantastic.

No - I haven't been able to see any of his other work. I've caught some random clips and stuff, but I'd love to see if Northwestern ever got made and of course, Coven. I think it's still available as VHS - not sure if it came out on DVD? Time for some research I think...
