Hi All
Looking to start moving my screen plays forward. (SM, ML, NBM kinda stuff)
Looking for the film look and I have a bunch of prime Canon L Series SLR lenses as Iam photographer. I have looked at the:
Sony HVR-A1E £1702 Canon XHA1 £2573
and various 35mm adaptors (even the home made type).
Problem is I only I have £1000 budget for a camera so Iam not sure HD can be done...
So have considered a SD camera but these appear to be a DES at the moment. Cheap but soon to be in the loft along with the BetaMax, CD Player...
Regards

take a look on prestons site, they have second hand camera's, also for the film look go for 25p, it just looks more organic. i have made my own adapter and it works really well, i have been using a frosted dummy cd as the spinning ground glass but there is some grain showing up so today i nipped into a local glass cutter with a cd in hand as a template and came away with a proper ground glass which is frosted on one side, it's a little thick though but the image looks really good through different lenses, i got the the motor from a portable cd and the box for it all from maplin here are the links www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/dof/index.htmwww.videokit.co.uk/cgi-bin/store1/commerce.cgi

you do know the A1's only a single chip camera??? surely a 3CCD SD cameras a better option???
I've never shot with an A1 so not sure how much control you have over the image compared to a Z1, but I've edited footage from an A1 and was pretty impressed
