I have been wondering recently what has happened to sometimes Meadows collaborators.
We know that Tommo, Jo, Paddy, Shimmy and a few others have been constant in a lot of Shane's work and a few others have gone on to other things (Toby Kebbel, Gary Stretch ect).
I'm really just wondering what happened to people like. Mat Hand, Jimmy Hynd, Gena Kawecka, Tim Cunningham, Dominic Dillon, Julia Ford, Ladene Hall, James Higgins, Finn Atkins and Ben Marshall. Any ideas if they've done anything of worth since their turn with Shane? Or Shane, if you've any plans for these people in the future or are they out of the loop? I personally really like Mat Hand, Jimmy Hynd, Ladene Hall and James Higgins from what I've seen.
Any chance of one of them turning up in say 'King of the Gypsies™' or any TBA'd Meadows project?
I don't mean this in any disrespectful way but since Dead Man's, England and Somers Town have done so well the older work seems a little overshadowed. I just hope that these talented actors and their performances don't get overlooked. (Roll-on Small Time/Ronnie DVD release).

Finn Atkins is fuckin awesome and will go on to big things man.. shes cummin to my birthday meal tomoro.
Ben marshall works in 'Jigsaw' call centre in nottingham..! i dont think he acts anymore.

finn acted her ass off in eden lake if it wasnt for hers and jacks sinister,evil,nasty characters i fear the whole film would have fallen on its arse,definately two to watch out for........

Were you not that impressed with EDEN LAKE, mate? Obviously, Jack's performance as Brett is pivotal to buying into the film but I thought it was an all-round winner. |

I'll probably catch it on DVD Companero. I just don't think I'll get anyone to go with me and I'm sure I'd be the only person I know with the stomach for it. On top of that I haven't heard good things and I didn't like 'The Descent' or 'My Little Eye' on iota.
In an aptly timed coincidence I've just found out that Julia Ford AKA Sandra Woolley from Romeo Brass will be turning up in Paddy Considine's next project '1980' about the Yorkshire Ripper which starts shooting tomorrow.
Did anyone spot George Newton's (AKA Banjo/Gypsy John) turn in 'Control'?
Did someone say that Ben Marshall is Jigsaw in 'Saw'?

Finn was in last weeks Casualty, and was fucking ace!! God, that girl can act, and believe me, she was not playing what you might call a sympathetic character either.

Hmm. Not sure you'll like EDEN LAKE then, Mr Morell. I only managed to get my missus to see it because we saw the trailer a week before and Optimum seem to have mis-marketed the flick as a thriller! Hehe. So what gives with the RIPPER project? Are they going to get theatrical releases or are they going straight to telly? |

It's for C4 so i think the idea is TV trilogy with a plan to do a cinema release after?
Not sure how that works. The cast is incredible.

I've been looking forward to this since Mrs Meadows let slip that Shane was considering it. The subject matter is fascinating, being that Sutcliffe was free to carry on for years. I reckon this could be great. |
