Damn webwasher. Cant see this at work, sounds fantastic though. I never knew 7digital digital movies. What format are they in?* any other decent ones? *i will check later. Im intrigued though.. Edit: Film info here - www.bfi.org.uk/75/dvds_downloads/film_downloadsOther than Cashback, I dont think ive seen any others, recommendations welcome. And the bad news, for mac people - We regret that restrictions on the use of Apple's Digital Rights Management system mean that we are unable to provide these film titles in Mac-friendly format for the time being. Where theres a will though eh...

Hold the front page!
Where's the Money, Ronnie? is on there too.
Can someone who downloads either of these let us know the file type and how locked down it is in terms of copy protection.
Do not buy Cashback! Altthough I see it is the orginal short-film version. I have seen the extended version which is feature length and creepy as hell. If you want the cheap thrill of the dodgy porn aspect of the film, I think the short contains all of that.

Your not suggesting we make copys are you Dave? Ha
For the life of me I cant see Where's the money... im looking at the BFI page.
Erm. I got cashback dvd on the front of a magazine, with alot of other shorts. Not too sure which version. And it is odd, not in a bad way, boobs and bums, odd plot, viewable and memorable, although not for the right reasons.

Just a word of warning on Where's the Money Ronnie. I paid , I think, 3.99 for this download. I watched it twice, but then it just stopped working, even though in 'properties' it suggested unlimited private views were possible and they're were no media rights issues. If I recall somebody else on the forum had the same problem. It's great if you haven't seen it, but £4 is a bit steep for two views....
Sorry, can't help with the technical info Dave. It played on windows media player if that's any help.

Yeah, it looks like WMV files for Windows Media Player. That can have some right annoying DRM (Digital Rights Management). I wasn't suggesting copies! I was more interested in whether you could make different files out of it so that you could watch it on your TVs rather than a monitor. The Playstation3 can play WMV files, MP4 files and Divx/Xvid files on your telly, but I don't think it can play ones that have DRM.

Great stuff! For those that get it working and have not seen it, you're in for a treat!
Is it worth putting this news on the front page, Dave?

Is it worth putting this news on the front page, Dave? Yes, that's why I exclaimed "Hold the front page!" up there ^

I'm downloading small time now, but I'm getting a pathetic 53.03KB/sec download rate on my 20mb connection unfortunately. It's a 573mb file and you can download it either on your pc or to a portable media player, but not an ipod.

Really wanna see both these films. I have a Mac. Bet you're loving this Dave! Anyone know if any other player... like VLC or something will play the files on a Mac?

I bought smalltime, although my mac is to slow to process when playing with VLC. When you've puchased it you might want to download ( www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ipod_itunes/isquint.html) this little beauty and convert the file at will.. if its not illegal, obviously.

They are annoying, but I don't wish a lack of Smalltime on anyone! I have the traditional VHS myself.... I've had it since 24/7 was released! ;D

....Can someone who downloads either of these let us know the file type and how locked down it is in terms of copy protection..... DRM WMV files. Registering the licence on first play in Media Player doesn't work in Firefox however, had to run IE instead. Can be licenced to play on 3 machines. Works OK so far. Paul

Thanks Thribb! I tried to download both ST and Ronnie, but got error messages again when I tried to watch them. Emailed the BFI and they just suggested trying again...arghhhh. Anyway, I use Mozilla, so that's most likely the problem. Will try again tomorrow using IE. Btw, re my post above-I wasn't charged for down loding Ronnie-for a second time- so not such a rip off (as my initial moan suggested )

It doesn't matter which browser is running when you download the files, you will however need IE to be the only browser running as you play each file for first time in media player, once licenced you can play them in any player on your computer, WINAMP works for example once the files are licenced to your machine.
